Bruce Shoemaker Recreation Area & Campground

This is an awesome, little, county campground. The entire campground is small, yet the sites are very spacious. Overall the place is very well maintained. The sites are crushed red gravel and very long. All sites are back in only. 30 and 50 amp plug service at each site and water. Electric posts are all very new. Restrooms are VERY clean and nice. The campground sits along a flowing river, so if you get a site next to the river you can relax listening to flowing water. There is a mowed walking trail around the old sand pit that is now a small lake (or maybe some would call it a large pond), so nice for a morning stroll. You can also fish in the sand pit, but now swimming allowed. The only negative is that there is not a dumping station. If passing through this area and you need a quiet place to park for a night or two this is definitely a place to check out.
