Ameristar RV Park

Close to the highway, $33 bucks per night with GS.
I imagine when this park was first built, the Ameristar Casino thought it would fill up with travelers looking to gamble at their riverboat style casino across the road. In 2023, not so much, the park is mostly empty on weekends and no one is in the office until Monday? ?? Pull through sites too short to accommodate any tow vehicles. No laundry because the laundry was broken into and “we don’t when it will get fixed.” No wifi or cable as others stated. It’s mid January and the far too tall water faucets are wrapped with pink insulation, our sewer connection is flush with the concrete. No, no.
The casino industry in Mississippi has played out and this casino RV park is a reflection of that. Not enough return to bother with it.

Kim, at front desk, was pleasant on the phone in person. The spots are mainly level but many are inoperative/need work. Nice grassy area on perimeter for walking dogs but no dog station with bags. Pool was not working and cable was out. As others have said, it needs some TLC but good for an overnighter or a short stay to see the sights in Vicksburg.

Great for a night or two for our frequent trips “west” from our home, “east” . Trees, grass, relatively level cement pads. Management is somewhat puzzling: The person on duty from morning to about 4 was great. we had some issues after 4 and we had to deal with someone at the casino by phone. Apparently you’re “on your own” after 4.
That said we will stay again because its pleasant and in a good spot for our travel routes.

This was a great one or two night campground. Our site (#13) was on the end of our row and overlooked a lovely grass and tree area. The site was level, clean and we even had a tree! Laundry room was well maintained and I was able to catch up on laundry. Quiet and clean, would stay again if coming through Vicksburg. ( About 4-5 miles from Vicksburg National Military Park)

This place was great for a stopover. My price was with Good Sam discount. So despite the pool not being open or the shuttle to casino not running, I still feel like it was a good deal. Electric and sewer were really all I needed. The place was half empty but we were still put close to others; I guess there was a reason behind that. Like I said, great for a stopover.

This is the third time we have stayed overnight at Ameristar RV Park. The park is a convenient location when traveling from the Pensacola area on trips heading west. Access to the RV park is easy and no issues with our class A RV with our towed attached.

We stayed in a 50A full hook-up site. All of the sites are pull thru sites and it makes it easier to stop overnight when you have back to back travel days. The cost was $30 plus tax,

With the RV Park still operating under the COVID-19 protocols the check-in process included the welcome packet on the door of the office. You pay by phone the next morning starting at 8:30 am local time (CDT/CST). Other changes include the laundry only being open during the business day, pool closed (it does not look like it has been maintained in a while), and the restrooms were not available. Two years ago, the restroom/showers, laundry, and pool were nice and clean.

One of the benefits we have taken a couple of times with staying at this RV Park is the buffet at the casino. We did not do it this trip and I do not know if the buffet is open.

If you come here, be sure to set your GPS at the 725 Lucy Bryston St address (true location) rather than either of the Washington St addresses in the email confirmation. The Washington St address will lead to the Casino, down an impossibly steep hill with hardly any room to turn around. The phone number on the email goes nowhere either.

The staff on duty was of the "it's not my job" type. The washroom area (showers, WCs) is closed but the laundry is open 8am-4pm. No WiFi, but cable available.
Each site (thankfully) has electric, water and sewer. There is no dumpster for trash bags, just some trash receptacles dotted around the park (see photo below).
The positive points are the location near Vicksburg, cleanliness, and low price.
