I saw the NO BIG RIGS but we have a 19’ trailer so I thought we would be fine. NOPE! I’d have to say NO TRAILERS at all.
The turnoff is right on a curve with a large pull off prior to the driveway if you are coming from the south, heading to Prescott - but there are no signs. I walked over to check out the site. I saw the “driveway” had large ruts from runoff and is fairly steep. The parking area below is small and would be best suited for an all terrain van type rig if you wanted to chance staying there.
The previous reviewers comments about curvy roads is correct. The stretch from the campground to Prescott has lots of 20mph switchbacks and posted speed limits should be adhered to!

I was going to Prescott the back way, on AZ89, and found myself in a narrow pine forest at 6500’. There is a gravel/asphalt driveway exiting to the east just as you pass one of the many curves. You have to watch carefully. The road into the camping area is relatively wide and level, with large pull through spots around stone fire rings.
This area is kept up by the forest service, and they just push the dead wood into large piles, so there is an abundance of firewood. You are kind of close to the road, but its not a busy road, but it is a curvy mountain road, so once in awhile you will hear a motorcycle downshifting. This stop after sunset. Great views, level ground, very remote, I only saw a couple of day hikers the whole time I was there.
Azhiker would stay here again
