I stayed here in mid-June during the week. I made reservations the prior day on recreation.gov. There were two other camp sites occupied, but the host said that it would be full on the weekend. There are a few first come sites. The host was terrific. She even brought me my wood bundle, so I wouldn’t have to move my RV. This is dry camping and it was so quiet I hated to use my generator.

The campground is an oval and one side sits along what was once a beaver pond formed at the spring. There is a lovely easy hike around the pond area. The sites are spacious, private and fairly level. My site was a pull in that could have accommodated a large rig. There are fire rings at each site; water faucets and clean restrooms are conveniently located in the center. The only threaded faucet is at the host’s site, but it is available for use. The sites are shaded with conifers.

The road in was paved and easy with beautiful views of Mt. McLaughlin. It is 10 miles from Butte Falls a tiny town with a beautiful Central Park and a small store.

The nearest cell service is at a turnout on the way back to town. I also had good cell and internet service at the park in town.
