Beautiful beachside setting in a cove, large sites and some overlooking the ocean. The beach is wide and open, clean restrooms. Love camping to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. Town of Mendicino is a short drive away. Will be back!

Loved this RV park. Right on Highway 1 between Leggett and Ft. Bragg, this gem sits right on the coast. We arrived after hours when it was dark, something I wouldn't recommend as there are no lights down the winding road into the park nor throughout the campground. There are firepits at each site. Grounds were clean and well maintained, staff was friendly. Ocean views and sounds of the waves give this 5 stars plus!
One more note about getting there at night -- Hales Grove, a foresty area of Highway 1 off 101 at Leggett is a winding narrow road with 10-20 mph hairpin turns and was a little sketchy in our 28' Class A in the dark. Had I known I would have gone further south on 101 and took 20 to Ft. Bragg. Our lesson learned: travel in daylight, especially when going to remote areas.
If you're traveling South (or even if you aren't) check out David's Restaurant and Deli in Fort Bragg. Best. Breakfast. Ever. Very cool artwork, all for sale.

All along the Pacific coast there are quite a few campgrounds next to the beach. Some of them even right up against the sand. There are however very few that allow true tent camping way out on the beach itself. Westport Beach RV Park & Campground is one of them. Grab a flag, stake out your spot on the sand, and the helpful staff will ATV your gear out to you so you can get set up. Pretty sweet.
RV's can get on the beach itself, but they do get all the prime beachfront sites. We enjoyed beachfront views and campfires for our entire stay. A beautiful thing.
The entire region is pretty spectacular too. Mendocino and Ft. Bragg are a short trek south, and if so inclined, you can also head north up into redwoods territory within a short 30 miles.
Cell phone is near-enough nonexistent, but the campground recently (June 2017) upgraded their entire wifi network, and there's a good strong (and free) signal throughout the entire campground.
We will most certainly return whenever we can.

The internet only works near the little store and it is less than 1Mbps fast. Can’t really do much out side of send/receive a text message. Verizon did not work in the camp area. There were spots on the beach that had 2 bars of service. I would give 5 stars if it wasn’t so expensive or if the camp was nicer. The bathrooms were ok. But the roads in and out are kind of rough. All dirt roads and it had rained recently so it was a little muddy. Be careful walking around at night because there are bears. Came across a mom and 2 cubs one night.
