Very snug campground, but we were here off season so that was no problems. Great location, walking distance to town. Our site had a beautiful harbor view.

On the plus side, this campground is very close to town and has a variety of site types to chose from. Whether you're tent camping and just want a spot of ground to pitch your tent on or RV-ing and want full hook-ups with a waterfront view, if you reserve early enough you can probably get what you want. Just be prepared to be cozy with your neighbor because sites are close together with very little privacy. In spite of the campground being very busy during our stay I thought the staff did a pretty good job keeping the restrooms and showers clean. Grounds were pretty tidy too. Hint: try to take your shower in the early afternoon just after they've been cleaned and when most folks are out and about or very early in the morning before everyone else is up if you want to avoid the crowds and find the cleanest showers.
On the negative side, the sites are really crammed into every nook and cranny and their quality varies considerably. Do check out the site photos on the map on the campground's web page if you want a view site. I found the pictures pretty accurate. Personally, I would avoid the sites along the fence that borders Seaplane Base Rd, as they seemed particularly close together and unattractive to me. WiFi is only available up by the office and there are only a few places at some outdoor picnic tables to sit. You're better off to go to a cafe with WiFi really. For tent campers there are dish washing stations situated around the campground that appeared to be pretty funky, but functional.
The best piece of advice I can give about this campground is : don't expect too much from it and you won't be disappointed. The area itself around Ucluelet and Tofino is spectacular. We loved hiking the Wild Coast Trail and going to Long Beach to see the surfers. Don't expect solitude unless you go in the off season though!
Price quoted is in CDN funds. Our stay worked out to $43 US per night.

I had hoped originally to stay in Tofino, but everything was already full months ago when I was planning this trip. Luckily I got a reservation here as they have been completely full every night (as has everything in this area! Reserve ahead!) And although most of the sites are cheek to jowl in a gravel parking lot, the location is fantastic. You can walk to the little town of Ucluelet, which has several good restaurants and cafes as well as the Aquarium and a good grocery store as well. The Wild Pacific trail around the lower peninsula is nicer than what I saw at the Pacific Rim National Park. Free showers and dump for those with full hookups. My site, 91, had more privacy than
most as it was at the end of the row. Reserve early!!! I have quite enjoyed my stay. My only big annoyance is that you have to sit at the office for wifi (as I am doing now writing this!) Absolutely no wifi at the site, even with a booster...

$46 Canadian for no hook-ups BUT there is a sani-dump and plenty of places (they call them “sinks”) to fill your fresh water tank. We were offered a no-hookups site because that’s all they had left in the VERY busy month of August (we came out here w/o reservations - probably won’t do that again).
We thought we could swing it w/o electricity because we have 300 watts of solar panels on our roof... but ultimately Fogust happened and we didn’t get enough direct sun to keep our batteries happy. So, on the 3rd and final night, we moved to a site w/ electricity and water (site #88 for $51 CDN). It’s worth noting: none of the sites at Ucluelet Campground have a tank dump... the centrally located sani-dump within the campground is easily accessible and open 24/7. Also noteworthy: generators are NOT allowed to be run in the campground. No exceptions.
Wi-Fi is free and available only within an approx. 20 foot radius of the main office (near the entrance to the campground). Staff seem to be seasonal and moderately helpful... one of them rolled her eyes when we asked to move to a site with power. The showers, as one reviewer mentioned, are pretty dirty. On the upside, they’re hot, free, mostly private, and have great water pressure. There are 5 shower stalls for each gender in what appears to be a makeshift double wide trailer asembly. For tent campers: there are dishwashing stations scattered around the campground. For people who like campfires: each site has a steel campfire ring and firewood is available at the office for $7/bundle.
Some of the sites have lovely views of the Ucluelet Inlet and marina. There’s a great little restaurant w/ a bar, outdoor seating, and bowling alley(!) right across the street. It’s open ‘til midnight and offers breakfast starting at 9am. It’s an easy walk to the Wild Pacific Trailhead and the Co-Op grocery store, which has just about anything you’d want. Overall we like this place and would happily return.
