Tipps Point Campground

Campground was nearly empty during the week but packed on the weekend. Very quiet the whole time. Sites 2-12 have a ledge to negotiate when backing. 1-13 are back in with a view of the water across the road. Higher number sites are just off the water. All sites at Tipps point are water and electric only, there is a dump station. This campground seems to be for the smaller rigs while Elephant Rock is for larger ones. I had decent AT&T service here. Lots of hiking trails.

Campsite: The campsite was good, provided what we needed and really only slept and ate at the camper. We had water (great pressure), electric (30 & 20 amp), concrete table, & charcoal bbq. The sites did not have a fire pit but we were able to make one with rocks that we found around (and so did many others). The site was not that level, but you can correct with leveling blocks. They were also very close on either side but you are still able to have a small fire and feel comfortable with space between the campers. Bathrooms and showers were what is expected at a state park. The campground was also controlled with a gate that day users had to pay (also any additional cars that you brought with you $5/day). All of the sites were only 20 yards from the water's edge, which led to great sunrises and sunsets.

Lake Murray: The lake is amazing & clear, not what were were expecting for a lake in Oklahoma. They had some nice hiking trails, nice beaches with swim areas, mini golf, horseback riding (about 45min ride), boat rentals, and a few floats in the water that you can jump from.

Overall was a great experience, we will try for a different campsite next time, but we will be returning to that lake
