Arrived at dusk, lots of sites available. Great little overnight stop close to the Trans Canada highway.

“Helpful Staff. Quiet Park Near Major Highway ”

Overall Rating

I camped here for a week in June. The staff were quite helpful, even volunteering to bring me firewood at my site when they learned I was injured!

It’s not somewhere I’d want to stay for activities or with kids for longer than a weekend. There isn’t much at the campsite. There is a small playground, washroom/shower building, store, and a hiking trail around the perimeter of the site (treed, but in the middle of empty prairie).

Park attractions include 2 horses on the west side and trains passing in the distance 6 times a day (and night), and a smell of cattle on the blustery winds. Nearby attractions aren’t much better! But if you are seeking an escape to peace and quiet not too far from amenities, I’d recommend. I chose it as a ‘safe’ campground for solo camping on my way through with injury.

I was concerned there may be highway noise, so chose the quiet peace and dark, starry skies of the farthest campsite, only serviced with electric. The campground has sites with electric only, and is able to accommodate the big A class rigs as well as tents along with everything in between. While no sewer/water hookups, there is a dump station and potable water fill at the campground.

Used my cell signal (Rogers) with 3-4 patchy bars.
