“Tight spaces!”

These spaces are some of the tightest I’ve experienced. WiFi was good and free, lake was pretty, but the tight spaces made things uncomfortable. Also, spot 4, where we parked had a shared utility pole. This mean that our “yard” was shared and had zero private space.

The majority of the park is gravel; however there are concrete pads for the picnic tables at most sites. There are people living at the part in their RVs but they are in a separate area from those passing through. The ones who live there have well kept areas. I have been in RV parks where people are allowed to junk up there living space but this is not one of them. During the week, the area for those passing through somewhat clears out and a few overnighters come through. All in all we had a good experience.

We stayed for one month here to test out our new travel trailer before heading out on the road. Overall it’s been a great experience - very quiet and peaceful although the park has been full (even in October). We would stay here again.
The spots are close together, but it’s not the worse we’ve seen. If you’re staying monthly the “preferred” spots are only slightly more and give you a lot more room and a grassy lawn instead of gravel. Our spot was a “premium” spot and was right on the lake. The only thing that bothered us was that our neighbors sewer connection was about 1 ft from our fire ring. The monthly fee does not include electric, that is paid at the end of your stay based on use.
As others explained the owner is very direct, not super chatty. But we were fine with that so long as we have whatever we needed, and we did.
We work full time from our RV, and had no issues with our phone or internet service. We primarily use an ATT hotspot for Wi-Fi and Verizon and T-Mobile for cell services. The park Wi-Fi has seemed to work well too, only slowed one night while we were watching Amazon Prime and we switched to our own hotspot.
The local area is quaint, but there are things to do. We enjoyed visiting the Forge brewery and Prairie State Winery. There are also a few restaurants in the local downtown area - a breakfast spot, a few bars, Mexican and Italian restaurant. Grocery stores within a mile, and a great butcher shop right at the entrance to the park (high prices but the meat was great).
We had to go back to the city occasionally for work, it’s not a short drive but you can get there in just over and hour if you go outside of high traffic times. St. Charles/ Geneva is only about 30 min away and has another cute downtown area with breweries, restaurants and a comedy club.

This is a scenic RV park next to a lake. The spots not right by the lake seem a little more packed and probably wouldn't be as nice, but we got one right on the waterfront. The park is quiet and very nice. There is a long walking path around the lake, and the park is near town, so it is convenient whether you need groceries, a night out, or a bike ride.
So why is this not five stars? The treatment from the owner is..... strange. We had just had three long days of driving and got in late afternoon, and it felt like we were the enemy. We were basically told all the things we MUST NOT DO. As the week went on, he softened and actually was friendly, so don't be intimidated by him, but that initial impression left a bad taste in our mouth. A little customer service goes a long way. When someone comes in the door, act like you want them there, not like they are a threat to your private paradise.
If you can get over that, this is definitely a park worth the price.

We needed a quick getaway. They have 2 lakes and around 83 sites so parking was tight (not to bad).

We did not stay lakeside, so it might be better if you have a lakeside spot. The spots are gravel and pretty close together and there aren't a lot of trees, but its close town.

Mixed feelings... it was ok for what it was, but the expectations were different than what we got.
