Stony Creek is centrally located. That is it's biggest plus. Minutes from both Kings Canyon, Sequoia NP as well as Hume Lake activities. If you're trying to cram a lot into a short time in both National Parks this is a great place to stay. I saw as many as 5 hosts who were very attentive and always hard at work. There are barely more than a handful of sites for larger RV's. Campsite descriptions at Recreation.gov did a nice job of helping determine which site to reserve for the trailer. FYI Dorst Creek campground, less than 5 minutes drive, has a dump station. There is a gas station and convenience store within walking distance. There is tons of shade here. Nearby Stony Creek is beautiful with tons of wildflowers in late August!

We camped here with a 23 ft travel trailer - the site was tight but fine once we were in. Most sites in this campground are for tent campers and smaller trailers. There was no water or electric on the site but water is available in the campground. No dump station either and the closest was about 15-20 miles away. There were flush toilets with sinks (cold water only) - bathrooms were dated but very clean and well stocked by the host. If you can survive without services, this is a pretty good spot. Generators okay from 6:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. A couple nice streams flow through the campground.
