DO NOT attempt the north entrance of the 'loop' with a large RV. Enter at the road lower on the pass.
The road in is crazy rocky and has not been maintained in a few years. Be wary of sharp rocks sticking up.
The area is very popular on the weekends and is a 4-wheeler place. You will not find solitude here. Also, the highway overlook is next to the sites. People like to stand and scream from this lookout which can be annoying.
There are sites for all sized rigs and most are very level. The sites in general are sunny and well spaced. We were easily able to use our solar and Starlink here.
There is no cellular connection at this location. The nearest Verizon voice only coverage is at the top of the pass.
There was a large bull moose that frequented the area during our stay, and he was not shy about approaching the RVs.

“Best place to camp on the 150. Plenty of separation and no noise.”

I was shown this place by some locals who also had a Winnie Drop camper. This is a great place to camp with dozens of nice level sites setup with a fire ring and cleared flat area to camp. Most have some shade from trees but there are also several open fields that can accommodate groups that want to camp together or just a large number of people. I'd guess over 100 campers/RVs/tents could fit in here. The nice thing is there is plenty of separation on most sites and you can get away from the highway so there should be no highway noise. I had no cell reception here. We camped here on an early August weekend with still campsites free.
Wolfgang would stay here again
