This is a wonderful state park. 2 loops, Creekside and Riverside and we've stayed on both sides over the years. Each had their own bathhouse with spacious showers and hot water. The both CG loops are laid out similarly - the central sites are pull thrus and the outers are back in. These sites are MASSIVE, spacious, and the vegetation in between sites gives a lot of privacy. Huge trees make their home here and it's welcomed during the warmer summer days for some great shade. There are hiking trails here; they mostly flat and simple. Kayaking/boating on the Hudson is possible, just have to get a handle on the tidal flows for the day. Be prepared to share the river with the occasional big boats/barges though.
50/30/20A Elec only site, but there are water spigots all around with a central dump station. Some sites you can fill-up water AFTER you've parked provided you have a longer hose. Firewood can be delivered to the campsite. We were Creekside Site 32 The campground and facilities were very clean and well cared for. Verizon service allowed us to stream and hold video calls.
Drive slow into the park - there are plenty of bunnies bouncing around in the summer.

I hate the new NYS smokeless fire rings because you can’t see the fire unless it’s raging, but that’s coming to all NYS campgrounds.

Level sites well screened from neighbors. Electricity only, Water faucets broken near camp sites. Water available at small dump station with long lines. Much to do in this forest.

Another 5-star campground!!! Flat trails for bicycles, beautiful views, great sites, privacy, clean showers, and very close to historical sites like Martin Van Buren’s home in nearby charming Kinderhook.

This was our first time camping out with our new camper and we only live about 35 miles north of here. This was our shakedown cruise. Our site was back-in (they do have some pull through); it had electricity only - 30amp/50 amp and 110 plug (I believe that's the only ammenity). There is a fresh water supply and dump station on the left as you enter. There are also fresh water spigots along side the roads throughout the park. There is a bathroom and bathhouse (modern) in each loop and they are kept incredibly clean.
We stayed in site 30 on the Creekside Loop, which is closest to the entrance roadway; so some noise of cars and rigs coming in during day, but not bad. Our site was well leveled gravel and the trees were trimmed back nicely in all the sites. It rained to beat the band while we were here, and our site was NOT flooded.
This is a QUIET, small state park, suitable for couples and small adult groups that just want to hang out and have a quiet get away. There is a dock area on the Hudson within walking distance and a small playground. Nice views of Hudson River and boating. Kids would definitely be bored out of their skulls here - nothing for them to do.
We brought our German Shepherd and he had a great time! The staff was helpful and friendly and the area is patrolled frequently. Great cell service - we use Verizon 4G/5G - but we were not here for that.
We loved it here and will definitely be back!

I’ve yet to have a bad experience at a state park. They are always better maintained and are typically more beautiful and interactive than national park campgrounds and even most RV parks.
The sites are amongst the most spacious I’ve ever seen. RV sites offer 30/50 amp electricity. There are several hiking trails, a bike trail, a really awesome playground, boat dock, and lots of picnicking.
The bathrooms are clean. The showers are large, but they do operate on a push system where you can’t adjust the pressure, temp, or how long the water comes out, so just be aware of that. Lots of water fill ups in the campground. Dump station on the way out. Two different book exchanges. Mostly filled with Danielle Steele, which is not my preference, but maybe someone will spice it up in the future.
ATT and Verizon fluctuate between 1-3 bars. It was enough for me to work - downloading files, sending emails, and conducting non-video zoom calls. At night we were able to stream with just a little buffering needed throughout.
Lots of bunnies, weasels, chipmunks, birds, and butterflies. Plenty of space to walk the dog. ***Be sure to bring your dogs rabies records!! They don’t let you in with just the tag, it has to be the paper records. We’re full time so not a problem as it’s always with me, but they are very strict on rabies requirements***
Definitely recommend.

Sites only have electric, which is fine, but several of the water fill stations are broken. The bathrooms are warm but there was only hot water 1 of the 4 days we were there. A cold shower when it’s 29 degrees out is not pleasant. On the plus side the playground over at the main part of the park is really nice and the trails are very walkable. This site gives easy access to Alabany. It also had good 5G reception on ATT.

Beautiful campground. Easy in and out for our 40’ motorhome while towing a car. Would’ve stayed longer but have to work remotely and cellular speeds couldn’t support that.
AT&T upload speed was really bad (0.5), download was 5. Verizon was 5 up and down.

The only downside of this really lovely campground were the mosquitos! There’s very dense brush surrounding the sites and with the rain this season the mosquitos were THICK! The worst we’ve experienced all summer!
Close to Hudson & The Catskills. We’d definitely stay here again!
Cell coverage was pretty decent with a booster, sometimes spotty though.
