Riverview Marina Campground

This State Recreation Area did in fact get hit by the flood some years ago. It's open again and mostly cleaned up. The State spent the money to put up a new sign declaring their high fees, but doesn't appear to put much effort into the campground.

Nebraska, like some states, has started demanding day-use fees on top of camping fees.

Resident day use fee: $7
Non-resident day use fee: $14
"Basic" campsite: $15
Electric campsite: $25

That means, as an out-of-stater, you're paying $39 per night for electric only. You're paying $29 per night just for the privilege to park there.

The park is in pretty terrible condition. You're parking on bumpy, unmowed ground. I saw electrical pedestals but only one water hydrant in a common access area. Old trees and such from the flood have been cleaned up and they've planted new trees, but there's currently only a couple sites under a large shade tree. Other than access to the Missouri River shoreline, there's really nothing else to do there.

Access is through an older neighborhood with skinny roads. Big equipment could get into trouble turning corners. If you can get in, the park will hold equipment of any size.

I'm not sure what happened to this park - it must have been badly flooded out a few years back. The restroom/shower house building no longer exists and the trees have all been lost or cut down. There is a new restroom in the parking lot of the marina although I wasn't brave enough to use it. Lots of locals doing drive-bys in the marina parking lot at all hours of the day and night. Upside is there is power at the sites and a few water spigots and it was empty except for us the first night. There were fire rings at most sites and a dumpster on the way out. Town is close by though and it's really nice!
