A very nice state park. We were on a trip from Montana to Illinois and we’re sleeping in the back of our truck. So we just needed one night here. Wonderful time of the year late October. As people have said the sites are not particularly level. But if you want level go to a KOA. The facilities were very nice paved roads bathroom and shower or clean water was hot. There is a dump station and water available or no power site was six dollars. The sites with power are 12. The fact that we got a camping spot a nice hot shower emptied our garbage For six bucks is pretty good. I would’ve given it five stars but I’m taking one off for myself being confused about reserve spots and walk-in spots and where exactly you were supposed to pull your vehicle in on the non-electric side spots. Probably should actually be 4 1/2 stars we will definitely use this again in our travels.

The campsites are nearly perpendicular to the narrow road making them difficult to back into. The 30p plug-in at the site we were directed to appeared to have been burned out for some time. I hitched my wagon and got out of that dump.

This state park is a nice quiet location not too far off the interstate. Lots of sites for tents and camper vans but does have a few sites that will accommodate travel trailers. We did an overnight here in June of 2023 on site 26. We had some problems with our tow vehicle during that day which put us coming in the campground after dark which was a challenge. The campground is not well lit and we had trouble finding site 26 as it is on an inner loop that is a bit hard to recognize if you are unfamiliar with the campground. There are no water sites but there are a couple of places in the park where you can get water, so that is not much of an issue. #26 wasn’t very level but we really didn’t care as we were exhausted from a frustrating day and just went to bed. In the morning we saw that this little campground is rather nice. It is well maintained and far enough off the main road that it is quiet and has a feel of solitude. Good water fill station and dump station near entrance. The bathhouse is clean, well maintained, and the showers were excellent. I’d stay here again and now that I know the park wouldn’t have any issues finding my way around. Beware, however, if you are coming in after dark and don’t know the area.

The campground is just a few miles from the main highway. Highly recommend this campsite!

This is a very nice campground with spacious sites, lots of trees and super quiet at night! We made reservations using ReserveAmerica. We picked the last pull through site at the end, with only tent sites beyond us and so we were mostly all alone during our 4 day stay. Well, all except for the raccoons that came nightly to get in the garbage bins but we had our AC on so only knew about them because the camp host would come down every morning and put a board in the bin so they could get out! 😜 Our site had a huge Sycamore tree that provided shade for our trailer for all but 2 hours, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The whole campgrounds is completely surrounded by trees and there was lots of shade for those in sites on the outsider edges. The bathrooms and showers were open. The showers are free but definitely old and in need of a good cleaning. There is water access throughout the CG and a dump site right next to the bathroom/shower house. For groceries..Hamburg only has a Casey convenient store so we drove to Nebraska City, which was about 9 miles away. They had a Walmart, a small grocery store, hardware store, several fast food places and a laundry mat. Sydney is about 6 miles away but had a small grocery store and that’s about it. I would go to Nebraska City. Over all we really liked this CG and would definitely come again!
