The good - Quiet and safe. People there long term are neighborly and helpful. The residents have a real sense of community and newcomers/shortimers always receive a warm welcome.
The bad - NOTHING works. The pool can not be opened due to inspection problems.
They advertise boating and kayaking. The boats they offer for rent are rotten and longtime residents advise newcomers to stay off the lake because sewage seeps in there.
Speaking of sewage - You can only dump on designated days and times (once a week) and waste often seeps up from the ground and puddles around campsites.
The washing machines are rarely in service and even if you happen to catch one that is working, there is a good chance it will break down on you mid cycle, leaving you with a pile of soaking wet (but still dirty) clothes. They will refund money lost in the machines, but only if you happen to catch someone in the office, which is rare.
Half the time we were there, the bathhouse had no hot water. The rest of the time, the owner had the bathhouse LOCKED and only a handful of her favorite longtime residents were given a key.
They advertise free WiFi. There is NO WiFi, free or otherwise.
During the multi-day freezing weather snap in December, the campground's water lines leaked and more than half the residents were out of water. It doesn't matter how well residents winterize if the campground makes no preparation and things break due to continued lack of maintenance and outright neglect. Even worse than being without water (which means we couldn't even fill up our freshwater tanks), the owner and the manager refused to communicate with residents and left it up to residents to ride around and look for leaks then didn't even bother to acknowledge our messages when we reported them. They did not return phone calls or texts and the office was locked up with a sign on the door that said OFFICE CLOSED.
Then there's the political nonsense that is thrust upon you the minute you enter the park. Large billboard sized political propaganda signs everywhere. Even worse than that, the owner is very pushy about her political beliefs, never missing an opportunity to force guests to listen to her incredibly insane conspiracy theories. I don't care about anyone's politics, but as a paying guest she made me very uncomfortable.
Which leads me to my last point, the owner is volatile and unpredictable. Everyone walks around on eggshells so as not to inadvertently set her off. I have personally seen the owner scream, yell, and curse at residents for minor issues and even demand they leave in the middle of the night.
The campground stays full because there's no other real options in the area. We made the best of our time there, kept our heads down, were as helpful as possible to other campers, and didn't complain. We were lucky enough to make some lifelong friends and we always enjoyed the camaraderie of the residents. But when a spot opened up at another campground, we got out of Pinelake as fast as we could.

Worst stay ever, sites are way to close together nothing they advertise is accessible, except washer and dryer that may or may not work, and sometimes have to pay twice to dry clothes because they didnt spin properly. They offer showers that were locked for the enitire time we were there. Also for the couple of days they were open didnt have hot water. They do not have propane refill as advertised. The public wifi is pretty much unusable. The sewer leaked into the main pond so you cant really do anything in the water. Entire staff is hard to deal with if your not in there cirlce of friends. I DO NOT recommend staying here!!!

This RV resort has great hiking and biking trails about and around the pond. The host was very accommodating to provide us with a pull through site for our 3 night stay. The laundry facility was dirty with only 2 working washers and dryers. The resorts decor focused on veterans of all wars. In a way it felt like a “Mash” movie set. We booked our reservation ahead. If we would have known that a political flag (trump in this case) was out at their entrance we would not have booked here.
