It’s free, rangers at the Visitor Center directed me to this area for dispersed camping. Vault toilet. Enough space for lots of RVs, also big combinations, lots of space to manoeuvre.

The previous notes about the fee for staying here are incorrect. There is no charge, but a sign saying there is a 30-day limit, not sure who is policing that.

I went to Peg Leg on Nov 9th, 2022. Peg Leg is now a fee area & from what I see it is day use only, $20. Real bummer as it was one of my favorite spots because you can hike from there. ☹️

According to the Anza Borrego website, Peg Leg is closed as of Dec 07, 2020: https://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1016 You could call the ranger station for the latest: (760) 767-5311 Also, across the road is an open area that may or may not be part of Anza Borrego S.P. so you might be able to dispersed camp there: 33.28909, -116.29372
