We stayed at Patten Pond because I could not get a reservation at Schoodic Woods in Acadia NP. Turns out that was a blessing, as "hurricane" Lee caused the NPS to close that campground and then we'd have been in a pickle. The first site they put us in, #327, was so sloped that our front jacks were out as far as they would go with 10" of blocks under them. With a "hurricane" coming, that made us nervous so we requested a move, and they put us in #508 instead. Much better! No trees, and level. If you're in a larger rig, the sites in the 500s are your best bet. The lower level of the campground is treed, sites are VERY close together, and there are giant rocks everywhere that make corners difficult in a large rig like ours, a 46' fifth wheel pulled with a Freightliner HDT. The hosts were great, very friendly and helpful. The bathouse and showers were clean, but the shower had spiders each time I used it. It would be nice if cleaners at ALL campgrounds would look UP and clean everything! The camp store had lots of items from food to fun to essentials. We would stay again, the location on US 1 made for easy access to get around, and the driveway was long enough we didn't hear road noise. The hurricane was a non-event here, thankfully. We lost power for a short time, but it was back on by the time we woke up and our solar/batteries indicated it hadn't lasted very long.
No OTA television, but they have cable. Good cell service on AT&T and T-Mobile.
Nawaa would stay here again

We stayed for 4 nights at this CG while visiting the town of Ellsworth, Maine. We cannot recommend this campground. The positives: We had a quiet campsite, which allowed for great relaxation. The staff was professional and friendly, although they are owned by a management company. We needed to change sites once we arrived and it took us awhile to get things sorted out with the staff, but it eventually resolved. The downsides: The road into the campground, the closeness of the campsites. The road into the CG is ¾ mile and it is all dusty, rutted and gravel. Prepare to have a dusty rig wherever you camp in this property. This was the worst road we’ve ever driven on leading into a CG. The road in had deep ruts and potholes, and looked/felt like a washboard. And the dust just kept coming in waves as people drove in and out. The CG did nothing to control the dust clouds. And the closeness of the sites was overwhelming. This CG was big-rig friendly. There are quite a few seasonal campers and some of their spaces were junky. Many of the campers were short-term RVers or tent campers and the campground was busy all the time. There’s one central bathhouse/laundry facility. The showers were full size and hot although a bit lacking in cleanliness. There were adequate showers and toilet facilities. We used the laundry facilities and the machines worked well. Our Verizon coverage was pretty good (2 to 3 bars) during our stay although other campers told us they had no service at all.

The staff was very nice and helpful with a great dinner recommendation. But not road.
