Overall Rating
We tent camped here one night. It is a large campground with sites pretty close together. The road through the campground is in need of some repairs and is very narrow. I think it would be a challenge to get through much of the campground with a very large unit, and the spurs were not very long. There's one bathroom/shower house in the middle of the campground, so it could be a hike depending on your site; it was functional, but old.
Our camping fee was based on being a non-resident of the county and discounted for being off-season (mid-October). The ranger in the office there was very pleasant to work with.
The lake is beautiful and would have been a delightful place to kayak or canoe. It's just outside the quaint little town of Jim Thorpe.
