2 single clean bathrooms with hot showers. Pull through (semi circle) spot #2 (water/electric) was great. Only 3 other patrons there. Nice walk in the park next door before getting back on the road for the day

There is a free archery range right next to campsite 1, just a cool little addition to the park. This isn’t a koa or some giant campground with a ton of amenities but it’s perfect for a quiet little getaway that feels off grid but is pretty close to 95.
Driving from NC to LA, this was a perfect, relaxing stopover.
Staying in campsite 1 there was a giant clearing where I was able to setup the starlink. Had a great connection the entire stay. 2/3 bars of Verizon.

The bathhouse is locked until you reserve your site with the parks and rec dept across the street which is right next to the cemetery on the left. I think they need more signs because we missed it thinking it was just the park, which is how it's labeled. In the park building which is also the nature center, there is a cool tree walk above the river and a boardwalk through the swamp too. There is also an archery range here. Nobody used it while we we're here. Definitely need to check this place out.

The bathrooms are nasty. We were here 2 weeks and they were not cleaned ever while here. Trash was never emptied, toilets, and showers not cleaned. We even had to take our own toilet paper with us because they never filled it once empty. If you turn bathroom light on at night cockroaches go running in every direction. I would say it’s ok for an overnight stop, but I would never do more again.

All the spots in the middle are pretty close to each other. Right across from 3 is another big rig pull in spot number 2, the most secluded. And then I think number one was close to the bathroom, which it looks like you have to back into. The showers were hot and clean. Garbage can at every site, fire pit and beat up picnic tables. I’m not an archer but there is a cool looking range here. Plenty to walk around to and only $20 no tax.

Stopped here for just a night. Very few sites with hookups. Little bathhouse was convenient and the park is maintained daily by staff.

Just the kind of wayside stop we like when traveling - a simple place to camp with hot showers, sometimes that is all we need, and the hot shower actually feels like a luxury. We would rather sleep in a rest area or on a dirt road than waste our money on many of the commercial campgrounds or RV parks. Making a same-day reservation by phone as we traveled down the road was quick and easy, and the staff was very gracious and helpful. Only 10 sites in a tight little dirt circle in the woods, and only 2 sites with W/E. Some sites have fire rings but some are just a simple clearing to camp in. I would not take a big RV in there, but our popup was no problem and other small rigs, vans, and even smaller RVs should manage. As noted in another review it would be difficult after dark due to minimal signage and the woods. We gave it 5 stars because it is exactly what it is with no pretenses. It is actually part of an environmental awareness program, so we did have a group of kids (with chaperones) there on Friday night but they quieted down by 10:00 or 10:30 and we enjoyed their laughter earlier in the evening as they explored the woods, set up camp, and got their fire going. Other than that it was a very quiet setting in the woods and we enjoyed it. One chaperone told us Saturday might be more noisy as more kids arrived. It is at least 15 minutes off I-95, with no direct access (a lot of turns on backroads) and even further from the coast highway but it depends on what you want and where you are going. It was perfect for us as we navigated back from the coast to pick up I-95 and head home, and we may use it again on future trips.

We stayed here as it was sorta on the way. Tiny campground and nobody here. Clean and nice. Old bathrooms with shower were acceptable. Water and electric. Verizon and AT&T barely worked but T-Mobile was great oddly enough. Great little park with online reservations.

The registration for this campground is done at the park building in the entrance on the left which just looks like the county park.
