“Friendly Staff, Clean, Small, Few Extra Amenities”

We arrived to find that there had been a change in management hours before we got there and there were some growing pains so keep in mind this is a point in time review (like all are I suppose).
The campground is pretty small and the sites close together. There were full hookups, picnic tables, and a small laundry room available. There was also a fire ring area but we didn’t use it and didn’t see it in use. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The campground is pretty remote and there are no big city amenities close by. There’s a small general store and a couple of restaurants close. For major groceries it’s about 30-40 minutes away so get groceries and fuel before you get there. And get bug spray-lots of bug spray. Florida gnats bite and are vicious. We couldn’t spend much time outdoors because of them. The campground was spraying for them when we left.
If you have children, there is not a playground and children cannot play in the fields due to fire ant mounds. No points deducted for that, fire ants are everywhere in that geographical area but there are not mounds in the campsites. In the area, there is no putt putt, arcades, touristy stores that a lot of kids like.
There are some wildlife refuge areas nearby that are beautiful and are wonderful for kayaking, paddle boarding, etc but you’ll have to drive to get to them.
The campground and bathrooms were clean. The women’s bathroom rooms were two separate, private toilet/sink/shower combos and the men’s bathroom was a urinal/toilet stall/shower stall/double sinks.
Pets are allowed and nearly all were cleaned up after. There is a small fenced off-leash area but we didn’t explore or use it for our pets.
If you’re looking to get away and have a quiet, low key vacation, this is a good place. If you need a place to park your camper as a base, a good place. If you’re looking for an all inclusive campground with activities, it’s probably not for you.

Arrived on a Friday afternoon and only stayed 2 nights. Site 18 is on the end and secluded camp side. Small park. AT&T service stayed 2-3 bars. Three TV channels with the antenna. Near some things to see in the area. If your looking for a night or two it’s great! We will definitely come back!
