We much prefer Horsethief after touring the campgrounds in Dead Horse Point State Park. Clean, quiet and great views. No issues grabbing a site at the end of September, several to choose from and ATT service to boot. Good location for Canyonlands Island in the Sky district and Dead Horse Point. Mountain Biking from the campground too.

Only a few people were here while we were. It was quiet and clean. Close to the parks. Only issues were no water there and dumpster was pretty far.

Very nice campground! Sites are spacious and spread out! It’s FCFS, but many vacant sites when camping in June. My site has beautiful views and the sunsets were awesome! A nice central location for both Canyon Land and Arches NP.

We paid $10/night due to our Access pass - well worth it for a well maintained campground.
ATT cell service was borderline, but worked great boosted. If you require that, drive around - service varies in different areas of the campground.

Very busy campground. Full every night. We arrived on a Monday at 2 pm. Not many spots left that could accommodate our length. Very convenient to Canyonland, Arches about 30 minutes. Ample space and vegetation between sites. Cell coverage spotty.

I didn’t get very good Verizon service, just enough for text and call, no streaming or scrolling.
The road was smooth, if you’re a bigger rig make sure you can back up. I felt it was spacious though.
I felt very safe 🤍

I’m a Boondocker who came to this campground with a very large first come first serve for larger rigs so I could drop off my trailer and scout the area. Thank god there was one spot available for me here left because I’m not sure where I would have been able to camp after this point. Dispearsed areas in the Dead Horse/Canyonlands area that looked good on a map and I researched out as available to camp on were rugged, windy, rough, steep and most certainly not where I could feasibly park a 29ft trailer. Even with a high clearance 4x4 truck. I would have had to trek all the way back to Moab if there were no openings here so friendly heads up. Oh! also there is no gas stations once you leave the Moab area so if you attempt this campground, Dead horse state park or Canyonlands NP be prepared to tow a very long distance in and out before you need gas.
It’s 20 a night. 10 if you have the access pass that gives you 50% this is a BLM campground and that applys. I don’t know why the previous reviewer put $9?

My suggestion if you are big is not to wait too late in the day. Filled up every night with an exodus every morning. Many sites that can fit big rigs and very easy to maneuver. Verizon came and went. Not too good

Just needed another night in the area. Pulled in mid afternoon in our Promaster 1500. Easily found a site that was level with a fire ring.
Camp host was available to answer questions etc.

We just needed a place to stay before visiting Canyonlands, and arrived late in the afternoon (around 5). All of the RV spots were taken but we were able to see how nice they were when looking for a site! Since we are in a van we snagged one of the few remaining tent sites, #2. It was a great nights sleep though very cold and it snowed. We want to come back and stay 2/3 nights. The access to bike trails looks fantastic ! We didn’t use the bathrooms but they looked just fine.
