Where are places to get potable in Moab? I have heard the spigot is not working at Mavericks.

We would highly recommend if you are in the area,

The entire park is perfectly maintained- campsites, rest rooms, trails, signage, overlooks, visitors center, picnic sites, even the dump station. If you are in an RV, remember to fill your fresh water tank before arriving. Of course, the view from Dead Horse Point itself is jaw-dropping at any time, but we found the colors of the canyon to be most intense mid-day without shadows from the canyon walls. The network of quiet, easy hiking trails are separate from the biking trails so you won't get in each other's way. In mid-May the desert wildflowers were absolutely spectacular! Like a fragrant botanical garden after a spring shower! Take the time to walk down to the visitor's center for a very well done & interesting display on early cowboys in the area, called "Spirit & Grit". Stay up late for star-gazing or get up early for sunrise over the LaSalle range. I have no idea how strong our cell service was. Who cares in such a place as this.

Enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

What a spectacular place! Located across the canyon from Canyonlands Island In The Sky district, this state park offers breathtaking views of Colorado River, the gooseneck, and the canyon walls beyond. The campgrounds are superbly maintained with shelters over the picnic table and raked tent pads. The visitor center exhibit is fascinating and explores cowboy history in the area, including a fascinating coverage of cowgirl history! The trail side signs are great and the mountain biking trails look fabulous! Definitely worth a visit.

Perched atop Dead Horse Mesa and close to Dead Horse Point, this is a spectacular place to camp. We arrived on October 23 and the temperatures dropped below freezing each night we were there. Two of the nights featured blustery winds as well, so we were very thankful for our furnace. Our site provided 20 and 30 amp electrical, but now water or sewer. There is an excellent dump station on the way out of the campground. A picnic shelter, fire pit, and an elevated tent site were also provided.
Our site was almost perfectly level, but walking around the campground, I learned we were one of the lucky ones. Saw one class A standing on the jacks with three wheels off the ground. The camp hosts do a fabulous job, though as the place was absolutely immaculate.
And then there are the views. My goodness! A short walk (or drive) will lead you to incredible overlooks of the canyons carved by the Colorado and other rivers. Sunrises and sunsets were beyond inspiring. We used it as a base camp to explore Arches and the Island in the Sky portion of Canyonlands, but I think I would have been content just hanging out at the campsite and taking in the views.

Sites are nicely paved and park is very well-kept. Space no water available so you’ll have to carry it in. You can get water from maverick gas station in Shell gas station in Moab. Hiking trails are within walking distance from the campsite. We will definitely be coming back to this one. We will definitely be coming back to this one!

Great dump on way out of campground. Location is the best feature. The campground is on a point directly across canyon from Canyonlands NP with breathtaking views. Great access to Canyonlands and short drive to Arches. If you have a jeep or 4 wheel drive vehicle, Fisher trail (accessed right before entrance to Canyonlands and exiting via the Potash road near Moab) is great. Long Canyon trail just north of the campground is very nice as well. Great basecamp for Moab adventures as well.

We stayed here for 3 nights to visit Canyonlands NP, Arches NP and Moab. Booked online well ahead of time. Our campsite was lovely and had good privacy. Concrete pad and picnic table area with privacy shelter. Washrooms were pit toilets (close) and full flush toilets and sinks (a little walk). Be sure to bring your own potable water as there is no water available aside from a wash basin sink at the full washrooms. The night sky was phenomenal for star gazers and we enjoyed a front row seat to the lunar eclipse. Three campground managers on staff (we barely even saw them and when we did they weren't the friendliest). You pay the State Park Fee with your campground booking, so easy in and out. Walking distance to the parks visitor centre. Spotty cellular coverage at best (we took a Zoleo satellite communicator just in case). The hikes in and around the campsite take you to amazing vistas. Little bit of a drive in to get to the park and campground but well worth it. Watch for cows on the road. We plan to go back if only to spend more time in Dead Horse Point SP.
