“Magnificent views, awesome town, bike from your trailer”

Fernie Problems:

1) Which side of the Elk River to mountain bike on. Or should drive 10 mins to the trails at Mt. Fernie Provincial Park? Or just take the kids along the River on the Town Loop? Or go to the bike park by the great Aquatic Center (waterside and inflatable obstacle course - check hours, kid pool, huge hot tub with picture window views of the mountains)?

2) Which coffee shop to go to? Fresh bagels at Big Bang are great but vegan treats at Freshies might be better for some. Of course, Valley Social or Bean Pod are great options too. Huh. Maybe one in the morning and one in the afternoon? Will have to create a schedule.

3) Sale racks from gear stores block the sidewalks with deep discounts on the previous season’s stuff). And they don’t even charge you real money! You pay with “loonies” or something.

4) Couldn’t find any good Canadian food so had to settle for Himalayan Spice and Nevados. I guess Fernie Brewing Company is kinda Canadian food (and it was delicious).

5) Hard to decide which of the huge mountains surrounding camp to gawk at.

6) Oh and the RV Park was quiet, had brand new laundry and showers, full hookups and a playground for $40US (don’t spring the for “premium” pull throughs unless you need them, all sites pretty much have the same view). Easy access to groceries, Canadian Tire, anything you need.

Okay fine, come here. Maybe you would like it.
