“Campground Is Gone”

Reviewed Jun 09, 2018

Overall Rating

Massive flood not only rerouted the Elwah River to the other side of the campground and took out the road, but it took out the campground as well. The only sign of a campground even being there was a single site number sign and a small gazebo. The road is closed about a mile prior to where it used to be.

I stayed here twice in a months time and loved it. It is family ran and very accommodating. They even watched my dog. Close to Port Angeles for groceries. We went to check out this campground and the Ranger said the campground was flooded when the dam was removed and there are no plans to rebuild it. We ended up at Fairholme Campground which is a beautiful spot on Crescent Lake.

“cell coverage and good options for larger rigs”

Reviewed Aug 07, 2015

Overall Rating

We did not end up camping here- we decided to stay at our current spot over at Heart of the Hills, but we thought it would be helpful to share a National Park campground that gets Verizon cell coverage. When you first come into Elwha, there are several shaded, forested spots that would work well for RV's. Driving further into the c... more

August 2015 I first learned of the Elwha River after watching the movie DamNation, so when I knew I would be in the area, I had to check it out. I am very glad I did. Located to the west and south o...

Heading south, along the edge of the park, we searched to find a "home base" for exploring the Hoh Rainforest and the coastal beaches. We first checked out Bogachiel State Park, which was nice, pricey...
