“Awesome campground!”

We really enjoyed this campground. The sites were well maintained, the bathhouse was clean and newly updated, and the swimming area was close. All the people were soooo friendly. I felt extremely safe at this campground. We did have an issue with there being dirty diapers and other garbage in our fire pit when we arrived, but we brought it to the attention of the staff and they quickly brought a shovel to clean it out and apologized. My kids really enjoyed the swimming (although the lake was kind of muddy) and the playground. It is about a 30 min. drive to Mammoth Cave visitors center (allow extra time to wait for the ferry!). Also, I had NO cell service with AT&T anywhere in a 10 mile radius. This is truly one of the nicest campgrounds I've ever stayed in.

“Beautiful! ”

We stayed at this park in Aug 2012 while visiting Mammoth Cave National Park. We had made reservations ahead of time which weren't necessary for a week night. However, reserved tags on site posts looked like it would be full over the weekend.

We had a beautiful spot right on the lake and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the water. The campground was quiet and peaceful. Surrounding area was rural and beautiful.

Sites are gravel and have been made level with retaining walls built by the Army Corp of Engineers. There is electric and water available at sites. Most if not all sites have views of the water.

We would stay at this park again.
