This was a nice isolated river front spot. I think the next nearest site was a mile or more away. Did not see or hear anyone the whole time I was there. This site is for small RVs only. Tight to turn around with 22 foot van. I think it would be extremely difficult to turn any size trailer around in that spot and the long narrow road in would be hard to back into the site. Miles of sandy road wasn’t a problem but I wouldn’t want to stop at several locations. As long as I kept moving it wasn’t a problem. Bugs were really bad. Alligators could be spotted at night in the river. Fish could be seen swimming and jumping all day. No facilities and pack in pack out. Had picnic table fire pit and grill. Great sunrises as well. ATT and Verizon cell service was great for calls and data with a cell booster. Without booster not able to make calls.

There are two options for reaching this site from Carrabelle. The shorter route is on the west side of New River. From Hwy 98 in Carrabelle turn north onto 379 on the west side of the Carrabelle River Bridge. Continue straight until the paved road ends and becomes Mill Road. Continue past the sign for Picket's Tract on the right and after a short distance, W River Road will be on the right. Turn right and continue for just under 4.5 miles. The campsite is on the right.
The second option is from Carrabelle and Hwy 98, taking Hwy 67 (Tallahassee Street) north to the turnoff for Gully Branch Road on the left - there will be a sign for the Pine Branch OHV Recreation Area. Continue west for just over 6 miles past the Gully Branch Day Use Area and over the New River. Turn left on W River Road and continue for about 2.3 miles. The campsite will be on the left.
