“Lovely campground on a river”

Overall Rating

My wife and I took a three week to Nova Scotia. We planned to stay there for two weeks, but were chased away by a hurricane. We changed our plans and went to Quebec to visit Quebec City. The first campground we stayed at was fine for parked RVs, but it was a total dump for short-term visitors like us.

We had a book of campsites in the area, and we needed to stay another night somewhere. I contacted Camping Remous de la Chaudiere. I got an immediate response from the owner, so we went there after spending a fascinating day in the old part of Quebec City. We highly recommend visiting there, and taking a guided walk to learn the history of this fascinating city.

We were warmly greeted by the owners and immediately taken to our site, where we had water access for our camper. The location is beautiful on the banks of the river, with easy kayaking available to go upstream (there were rapids downstream). The restrooms were absolutely spotless, as were the other facilities. Cell service was available through Spectrum with four bars at no charge.

My wife have been camping for over 40 years, and bought a camper van when Covid hit us all. We have taken it to both coasts and traveled extensively with in in the Midwest,US This campground was by far the best one we have stayed in. Their sites for transients like us were comparable to those for folks staying longer (other than not being on the river).
