For reference of current conditions: The air conditioner with generator has been running for 30 minutes, and it's still 93 degrees with almost total humidity (ground still wet;) the campground has no shade. The entire time I was there, no one approached me except for a woman who had found a loose dog, and a man who had lost a dog (not the same dog.)
The sites showing as available on the website were taken when I got there (they are still available online.) I checked a number of posts that were open around the park, but none of them had power. There is a phone number on the roof of the pavilion to call for reservations, which I didn't find on the website. 423-805-3111. I called the number and got a voicemail. After baking on the parking lot until I almost passed out, I received a text message from a different number: "RV Camping Lot has availability. What is your first / last name? I can Ck later"
Later? Really? Unreal. The message I left was quite urgent. I sent a text with my name and waited. Apparently, I didn't warrant a phone call. After I had left and checked in at another park, I received another text message: "How many days do you want to stay?" I politely responded that I had found another park.
The people there were obviously living there, and not in a cute RV park way; 'small compounds connected to rotting rigs' is a better phrase. Think homeless camp in a gravel parking lot with power poles. The pavilion looked nice, but I didn't go in. The nice lady trying to find the lost dog's owner told me that she normally saw car shows and such in there, so maybe it's cleaned out for events. I got the feeling that the lot is not monitored at all between events.
There are some level-ish sites near the pavilion, and then it slopes down to the paved trail, so just know you'll be leveling on loose gravel. The sites closest to the trail flood in rain. One of the compounds had a large loose dog, so be careful hooking up (two sites for one post.) Perhaps if I had reserved online someone would have gone out and removed the compound from my site, I don't know, but I needed to see the site for my wheelchair. The website map numbers may not match the location of the post. I didn't see anyone using a surge protector. The dump station is great. There is a nice sidewalk that goes all the way past Bass Pro Shops and all the restaurants/golf/shops at that intersection, so this would be a great parking place for the day. There is even an axe throwing/ale house across from Bass Pro Shops. AT&T cell service bars when up and down around there, but I was able to hop on my hotspot to check their website again for contact information and "available" sites. I had four bars of 5G. I was so hot and tired, I didn't take pictures. Sorry. If I can swing by there when I leave, I'll update with photos. It didn't look like the photos posted previously.

“Good spot for sightseeing”

The website for booking these sites is a little confusing. I did manage to book 4 nights for a water/electric site, but I had to book add each night individually. It won't let you book it as a start and end date. There were no instructions given as to where to check in. We arrived and weren't really sure where to go. It is basically a giant parking lot with no shade. We found our site (#3) from a map online. There is no real delineation to the sites. We found the electric box for sites 3 & 4. The person on site 4 would need to stretch his electric cord quite a bit to reach. There was also only 1 water line for both sites. We hooked our hose up and left to run errands. When we came back, the people that checked into site 4, had to use a splitter for their water hookup. The bathhouse had a coded entry, and it was decent though we didn't use the showers. Our Verizon cell signal was good. There is a dump station on site. There is some road noise and an airport nearby with lots of planes flying overhead. It was a good spot to park for sightseeing in Chattanooga. It was ok overall for the price.
NomadicFamilyLife would stay here again
