Burke City Park

Small 5 space RV park at the this small town park. Sites are level with gravel pads, although very close together. Sites have water and 30 amp. Sign says there is a dump station down the street but we didn’t check it out. Bathroom on site with showers was clean. Sites do backup to the Main Street but it quiets down at night. Friendly local policeman stopped by to alert us of possible severe weather and tell us where the storm shelters were.

Stayed here in late May 2019. This is a five site campground in a city park in a very small town. Pretty amazing to find a place like this. Well maintained and quiet, there is ample room for just about any sized rig, though there was not enough space to remain hitched. Getting to the park was a little dicey, but manageable. Level sites have decent space and 30 amp electric with water spigot and picnic table. Arrived early Saturday afternoon on Memorial Day weekend. Three spots were available when we arrived, all were filled by 5pm that evening. No frills here, although there is a tennis court (we played pickleball on it) and basketball hoops. Next door is a high school football field with a track which we walked several laps on. There is a bathroom on site (and other reviewers report a shower) but we didn't use the facilities. There is a small box with pay envelopes near that building. Not much in town. Signs stated a dump station was available at a convenience store in town, but that was no longer in business when we were there. No problem, we just dumped at our next destination.
If this place is full and you are in a pinch, a few miles outside of town there is an old State Park (Burke Lake, I think) which is barely maintained anymore, but is still open for dry camping. We checked it out while here. Found the roads to be in pretty rough shape, though the camp sites weren't too bad. Would be hard to use solar there. But if needing a place to stay, it would fit the bill for a night or two.
All in all, a great stop for $10 per night. Would definitely stay here again.
