Where do you park your tow vehicle. My RV is 30 ft. and the site is 35ft. and says no tow vehicle parking.

We loved this campground. It is well maintained, clean, situated in the trees, and the hosts were very friendly. The bathrooms and showers were very nice and the water temp was preset and right on (some places are not). It was convenient for exploring the Park and for leaving headed south. Great experience.

Not quite sure how this gets 5 star reviews. Showers and bathrooms well maintained. Staff very accommodating. Otherwise, I wouldn’t stay here again considering the other legitimate 5/star campgrounds in this state park.

Our friends stayed in a cabin and it was nice as well. We were in 20E with a 30 ft camper, plenty of space for our truck, chairs for campfire chats and kids to run around.
Verizon worked great, even had enough service to get wifi working for work briefly.

We stayed at the Blue Bell Campground in early June in campsite 20E with 30amp hookup, picnic table, and fire ring. The site was very spacious with a forest area at the back of the campsite. Restrooms and showers were a short distance away, the restrooms were clean with free hot showers. Campground hosts were very welcoming, friendly, and informative. Both nights a wildlife movie was provided at the campground amphitheater located in the center of the main loop. The campground is conveniently located for exploring the many local attractions. Overall we enjoyed our experience at this campground, and would definately return again. We received 2-bars of Verizon coverage without a booster.

Signs of mule deer in the campground. Close to Wildlife Loop drive. The small camp store has a few basics but. mostly sell park stuff. Prices for the food and drinks are on high side. Gas pump presently set at $5/gal. No problem recommending this campground. BTW, the site price doesn't include the $20/car park entrance fee, good for a week, or taxes.

Spent two days in the Blue Bell campground at Custer State Park. The sites were well spaced and the campground and facilities were very clean. Custer state park is very large and there are many things to do including wildlife viewing and some spectacular scenic drives. The state park roads are tight and twisty so that might be an issue for some large rv’s. Some roads are restricted to smaller vehicles because of low narrow tunnels. The blue bell campground was mostly electric only sites but there were some with full hook ups. One disadvantage of this campground is that the nearest dump station is on the other side of the park.

Really enjoyed our stay at Blue Bell and its proximity to the horse stables, chuckwagon dinner and the wildlife loop. The campground hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed the nightly ranger program in the campground. The number of free activities offered in the state park is amazing! Free activities offered throughout the park include gold panning, fishing, rock climbing, canoeing, and archery are among the offerings.
Our site was fairly level with a fair amount of shade throughout most of the day. There was a bit of space between sites but not much privacy. The only con about the campground is that I felt like there was a lot of driving when visiting Crazy Horse, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood and Rapid City. Next time I might split my time between Blue Bell and a campground to the north to cut down on driving.

Good location and good access to hiking and wildlife viewing and all Custer State Park has to offer.
There is a general store, restaurant, and laundry mat right at the entrance of the campground. All worked great!
When you book online, the site filtering isn’t super realistic. We have a 30 foot travel trailer and booked a 30 foot site without realizing it. There was no where to park our truck but, luckily, a larger site was available. (I wouldn’t count on this - this campground seems to be very popular.)
It takes a good amount of time to get to nearby towns and grocery stores. About 20 minutes to Custer and an hour to rapid city. I’d recommend buying supplies before you arrive.
There is no dump station on site but we made a detour to dump and get drinking water near the State Game Lodge. Dump station is free.
Great Verizon speeds - ranged from 10 to 20 mbps. AT&T was spotty and less than 1 mbps down.

Camp hosts were very helpful. The cell service for AT&T at the campsite is spotty but you can drive up to the top of the pass and it is good enough for video calls. Amazing wildlife and very close to Rushmore. Check out our full review at www.wanderlump.com/posts/custer-state
