Pretty live oaks and OK facilities. We were parked next to a VERY old camper on the side of the park with permanent residents. But there was a side with more mobile rvs. Looks like it was once a cool place with community space and a bar. Expensive but convenient for our trip between Florida and Chicago.

We were on our way from Gulf Shores to Tampa and stopped in Tallahassee because we have business there later this year and we wanted to try out the park. The staff was friendly and check in was easy. The huge oak trees with Spanish moss gave the park a great look.
However, the park layout is a bit complicated. The main office, laundry, community pavilion, and dumpster separate a mostly long term residential area from the mostly short term customers. The wide asphalt roads were broken up in wide swaths along the edge and it was sometimes hard to tell where the road edge ended. The laundry facility, washers, and driers were very clean and in good repair.
It was easy to drive into and out of the park and that was good because the grocery stores and other shopping stores were far enough away to make walking to them impracticable. So, our walks were limited to short excursions around the grounds.
We would stay again, but we’ll also try somewhere else as we pass through Tallahassee.

I don't think this is a place to spend more than one night unless you want to check out the Florida Capital historical sites. It's right off a major highway and there are many long term and maybe snow birds getting away from the north. As mentioned in other reviews, there are spectacularly large live oaks and most of the good sites around the perimeter are probably taken by the long term. One night pull throughs are for convenience only they are the closest sites. pull throughs 53-60 are super tight and close to each other. park and sleep. $58.00 is a bit high for this, so I would only stop here again when the state parks are all full.

The person working the counter could have been more helpful, but I guess her phone was important too. The restroom/shower building seemed new and were lockable. Portions of the campground seemed to have long-term residents but still room for travelers as well. Was a nice little park, but it was pricey when compared to others in the area.

I think this park is really geared more towards permanents than overnighters. Tallahassee really has very few options, none of which are new. Definitely not worth the $52 paid.

We knew we would be staying a while and picked out a spot under a big, well trimmed oak. There's lots of shade but we won't need to use solar while we're here as electricity is included even with monthly rates. The office staff and the grounds crew are great. There are two buildings with facilities for a total of 6 shower/bathroom stalls. Even though we are near a highway, at night the crickets and frogs drownd out all the traffic. We love our "home for now" and will enjoy returning after each short trip we will take until we finally cut the cord and retire.

We stayed here last minute. The spaces are small but it is nice. The bathrooms and showers are a combination that looks newly remodeled. Great place to stay if you need to be near Tallahassee.

We spent a month at the Big Oak (12/12/20 - 1/13/21). It is a simple park, not a lot of "extras" but we absolutely loved it. There is tons of oaks with Spanish Moss including the gigantic oak at the center of the park. (worth seeing in of itself).
Pros:
* The management was very kind and all the people who are stationary were kind, if we interacted at all. Looks like they at one time had social things around the big oak (firepit, chairs, and a pavilion) but either Corona or cold weather kept everyone inside most the time.
* The shower house was very nice and cleaned often, looks like they have been updated compared to other parts of the park.
Cons:
* The sites were not level but a few blocks were able to straighten things out.
* Spots are a little tighter than we would like. We were parked next to someone who were stationary and they would let their dog do its business anywhere next to their trailer, so often times my kids would track dog poo inside after playing. Others were moving in and out on the other side, not everyone knows how to park straight so we at times felt cramped.
* We originally booked because other reviews said that internet was stable...that was not the case for us. (verizon and tmobile) It would cut in an out consistently and was not very reliable. This was the biggest draw back for us, since we rely on it for work.
* IF you have packages coming you need to pick them up QUICKLY otherwise they will ship them back.
