We decided to put our new (25') trailer to use with a quick weekend at Bay View State Park. We were even able to snag one of their popular hookup spots with a view (sites 1-9). During the winter months, only sites 1-9 have water available. The weather was drizzly but not too cold, so we were able to take a couple of walks around the park and to the beach.
The campground hosts were pleasant, and the gentleman came out to guide us as we backed in our new trailer. Hookup was easy to their 30 amp and water. There are no sewer hookups, but there's a dump station at the campground entrance (water was turned off at the dump station due to winter). The dump station is free if you're an overnight camper, with a fee if you're not. The campground was super quiet and felt very safe.
The park itself is small with few amenities, but the beach was quite lovely with gorgeous nighttime views of the lights of industry across the bay. Down the road is a small interpretive center which would be fun with kids, and the Swinomish Casino is about a 10 minute drive. There are no stores near here. The nearest supermarket is Fred Meyer in Burlington, or there's a Shell station on Highway 20 with basic convenience store amenities. We took a day trip to nearby Edison, an tiny, eclectic little village with a couple of boutiques, a couple of taverns, a brewery, and a few other restaurants. The Old Edison Inn was our choice, with beer, burgers, and shuffleboard. (Don't miss their onion rings!)

Nice views from beach loop; remainder of park past ranger station. Adjacent to Padilla Bay, which can be bit odiferous when the tide is out, though a nice little beach area to visit with lots of pebbles and view to the W of Anacortes. Services 15 minutes away by car.

This is a decent campground, we visited mid-August so we did not experience the muddy ground others mention in their reviews.
We opted for a spot with no hookups, due to the fact that the RV hookup loop surrounds a wide open empty playfield with only a handful of (if any) trees separating campsites.
The showers appear to be coin-operated but are free, the water is warm with excellent water pressure; it should be noted that hot water is turned off from 10pm-6am due to vandalism, so if you prefer to shower very late or very early you may be out of luck.
We chose spot #71 and our 24’ rig backed in just fine, with about 3’-4’ to spare on the front. This spot is tucked away in a corner, if you park your rig correctly you can achieve total privacy on all sides while at your campsite. Even in this secluded spot we could still hear our neighbors talking and children playing in the RV loop.
No dump area, water for domestic tank filling is available at some restrooms.
Hosts are nice, overall clean campground, firewood is still $7 a bundle.
Paid $32/night for our spot, will not be returning due to lack of privacy and amenities. Good campground for active children, not for adults looking to relax.

If you visit the park in freezing months, bring your own water. They only had water available at the restrooms.

Decent place if you have to be close to the ferry or are going somewhere else. Sites were close together. Bathrooms were always clean. Cute beach to hang out at. Very level spots. We ended up across from a site that had four tents at it. They should have to be in a group site.

Our site had 3 ft bushes in between us and each site to our sides PLUS a site directly behind us. Take away the bushes and it was basically a parking lot. The beach that’s it’s close too is a tiny like outlook with a few tables and a bathroom. If this place was free I’m
Still not sure if I would go back.

Water is off for the season at the partial hook-up sites, but they have a spigot at the restroom building still on so you can fill up when you arrive. Being a relatively small park, and the off season, it was pretty quite. Very little traffic in and out. Friendly hosts.

The spots near the entrance and those that surround the field are nice for RV's. Once into the back loop its very tight and some are sloped that would make leveling a challenge. Just getting through the gates with an RV is a nail biter. Very friendly park staff.

Bring a hedge trimmer or something because the blackberry bushes are taking over this place... there could be soo much more room and still have tons of privacy if they would trim back the thorn bushes. Ground is a bit unlevel but we made it work. Campground is in great shape and the ranger is super friendly. Had a great stay. Call ahead on busy holidays... they book up fast.
