Arrived at 7pm after a long-drive day. Directions to the office were great, but the after-hours registration paperwork box was empty, so we looked at the provided map and found an empty spot to park. However, the road names (which are marked on the map) aren’t marked on the roads, so we ended up driving around the park twice trying to find site D42 on J street/road, (pull through 50 amp) but ended up just pulling into an empty spot that was only 30 amp. Not a big issue, we have an adapter and it was 35 degrees, so no AC worries. Dried and fresh dog poop was everywhere. Got the bathroom codes and took a hot shower, which was nice, but the shower stall needed some attention… loose shower head, missing drain cover, slimy walls. But it was hot enough to relax my sore body, which is nice for freezing, windy weather.
Not bad for a quick overnighter, but would choose a different park for a multiple day stay.

This is a transient stop for many RVers, meaning you drive all day, pull up to a place that has full hook up’s and is safe, get up early and keep going. For this you pay $40+ and we’ve come to accept that. However, keeping the dump site a secret is a deal breaker. Had an employee not come in early, we’d still be looking. For those of you who are desperate enough to stay in a place that has obvious disregard for its transient guests, it’s site 100. Nothing on their map or in their printed instructions will tell you this. No excuse for that. We will not stay here again, unless there are no other choices. RJourney is the responsible party here, not the good folks who staff the office. AND… they took away all the dumpsters!

Pull-through FHU 50 amp. Dirt/fine gravel pad. Larger gravel for patio nicely spaced with fire pit. Site #D35
General:
1) Very quiet and sites are well-spaced out.
2) Gas is 2 min. 4-5 min to restaurants.
3) Easy pull-through with the kind of sites that have an angled site exit (and entrance), making turning out of the site simple.
Campground WiFi:
Did not try.
Cell/hotspot using booster:
AT&T. Did not try AT&T this stay.
Verizon with booster (2/3 of 4 bars—4G). Not a working day but we were able to stream so probably could have worked and had meetings just fine.
Details:
Check-in: Easy. Posted in box.
Sites: Dirt/fine gravel pad. Larger gravel for patio nicely spaced with fire pit.
Campground Road: Well-maintained. The end of each row and exit do have large built-in bumps so take it slow.
Grounds: Clean.
Bathrooms/Showers: Did not use.
Laundry: Did not use.
Location: Gas, groceries and restaurants just 2-5 min away.
Near highway: Yes. Off of an interstate but not all that loud.
Near train: Not that I can recall.

We didn’t use any of the other “resort” features so can’t comment on that. Internet was basically non-existent.

The campground is an old KOA. It's all rocks and recycled asphault. There's some curbs there that you need to watch out for. I think it may have been built out to be a trailer park and then became a campgroud instead.
Wifi didn't work at all.

We like Curt Gowdy State Park Tumbleweeds Section better outside of Cheyenne.

Located just off I-80. This was a formerly a KOA , now private. Overnight with FHU's was on the first row beside the highway. Noisy. Basic site with minimal space but sufficient for overnight. Level sight, easy connections. WIFI was minimal. Verizon 1 bR LTE.

She gave me the wifi and password but when I tried to login, it said the password was incorrect. Anyway…it was nice enough to stay overnight on our way home. Also it’s a little pricey for just water and electric (and no wifi) . Paid 51.00 including taxes.

Ex KOA now run by RJourney, We payed higher rate for Pioneer Days weekend. Like an HMO you need to be responsible and take some control over your stay if you want it to be good and be aware of some overly strict cancellation/change rules. The Deluxe and Patio sites are AWESOME and D08 and D09 have nice southern side shade trees. The other sites are closer to the freeway and are much tighter and less nice. Drive the place and look at the sites before you commit. As usual for places like this it is in a semi-sketchy area but not at all dangerous. In general the place it better than our other KOA (and KOA-like) stays with more spacious nice sites and decent amenities. Best part, the two ladies in the office are THE BEST!
