This was a perfect spot for us to stay while we traveled through SD. Close enough to Wall if you ran out of something but far enough that you felt secluded and all alone. Parking is plentiful and no matter where you stay the views are breathtaking. This is a great spot if your boondocking. No hookups and no dump stations.

Plenty of room and level spots. We pulled in around 4:00 and had our pick of area. We stayed fairly close to the first entrance. There were 2 rigs that pulled in later and parked very close to us on our first night but they were gone by morning.
Mornings were gorgeous! It did get crazy windy in the afternoon and evening. You really could not comfortably sit outside and watch the sunset. But we opened all the shades and still enjoyed the view. Cell service was great.

From the interstate you drive five or ten minutes on a paved road which leads to a gate on the left (look for all the RVs parked on the hill) and a dirt track in good condition that my Ford Fusion managed easily. Close to national park and Wall Drug. This is a very busy, popular spot but there was plenty of space and felt very safe. We saw a sheriff patrolling and lots of families camping. Perfect boondocking spot, beautiful view, would definitely stay again!
A.P.S. Though this spot is lovely it is VERY windy. We managed in our small tent just fine but it was very flappy even sheltered somewhat by the car. Also no toilets or picnic benches.

Used the 'main' entrance (second from Wall) and able to find fairly level site close to entrance. The road is 3-4 miles long and it is amazing to see RVs parked all along this long road! Beautiful overviews of the canyon and quiet. Dirt road is easy to navigate - both with our RV and our motorcycle. Closeness to the Pinnacles entrance of Badlands National Park and Wall Drug can't be beat! And great cell service!

There are few totally level sites, so be prepared to overcome the slope. The road into this area is better than we had thought so don’t worry too much about access. We did not see it after a rain, however.
People were mostly cool but some folks seemed unaware at how well their voices carried overland in the less windy moments.

Took the entrance closer to Wall SD, which has a bit of a longer and rougher dirt road up to the overlook area. The payback was to have many more spots to choose from (we arrived late afternoon on Friday, May 7th, 2021) versus the area closer to the cell towers & NP entrance. Most of the people around us were car camping, so very quiet. We didn't use our generator, but were far enough away from our neighbours that I don't think we would have been an irritant. In spite of reading lots of reviews about the wind, still found it a little unnerving at first (35-40mph in early morning hours). Should have parked nose to the wind, not parallel to the edge. Still, the view and the solitude made the trip special. Unfortunately, we didn't have any creature visitors as others have described. Can't emphasize enough how great an experience this was. Just go!

Two entrances from the road exist, one at 43.919062, -102.238023, and the other at 43.893178, -102.238191. I would say that the latter entrance of 43.893178, -102.238191 is the primary entrance.
Very scenic location just up from the entrance to the Badlands National Park.

We attempted to pull our RV into the Nomad Dispersed camping entrance, however, our hitch was too low and we weren’t able. This site worked out great, easy entrance down gravel road. Beautiful views with level sites. Frequent patrols in the area by law enforcement. Would definitely stay here again.
