Portland Fairview RV Park.
For the past 10 years, this used to be our favorite park where we liked to stay when we come to Portland to visit our grandchildren. But no more! We made reservations for a pull-through site with wi-fi. The site they tried to put us in, #76, is so steep that it was impossible to level our 30 ft. motor home. So they dumped us in a back-in site far, far away that not only had no wi-fi, but is a “dead spot” so my “Verizon Ellipsis” could not access the internet! If I wanted to use my OWN wi-fi, I had to drive up to the clubhouse to send or receive emails or use the internet. The excuse was that Thousand Trail’s computer in Florida assigns the sites. I tried and tried to call Thousand Trails and was put on hold and couldn’t get through. When I went to the office to ask to be moved to another site, they said all those desirable empty sites were reserved. When I asked how we could reserve one, they never gave me a straight answer. Otherwise, it used to be a great park before Thousand Trails took over and ruined it. Sadly, it is unlikely that we will ever go there again. We had some trouble in the past with them trying to put us in bad sites, but this was the worst.

Getting here is pretty easy since the main highway in has exists under a mile away. This also causes some traffic noise, but we did not find it too loud at night.
We got a nice pull through spot with full hookups and we were walking to the pool and clubhouse area.
The staff seemed to take good care of the park with sprinklers at each site for the grass, and constantly driving around to keep and eye on things.
Quite a few annual people here and we did find that a few sites were a bit overloaded with stuff - but overall very well kept.
Free wifi here was actually some of the best we have encountered on the road - a surprise! ATT did not have the best coverage out here.

First the positive. When we arrived we found the parks computer assigned us to a space that would be way too small for our 40’ fifth. First the positive. When we arrived we found the parks computer assigned us to a space that would be way too small for our 40’ fifth. The host found a spot that is reserved to a monthly renter but they wouldn’t arrive for a few weeks. It was a backin spot but after some maneuvering we got in. Sites are level, good utilities, nice grass, lots of shade but if you need satellite it’s hard to get. WiFi is good and they include cable. The park is immaculate.
Now the negative. Husband was using laundry and when he went back for dryers he realized the washer didn’t spin dry the clothes. Went across to office and she rudely told him they aren’t responsible for them and to call a number to have a repairmen come out and he did that day. Also aren’t responsible for the credit card machine that wasn’t working. Office will not refund money you lose but gave a number to request two $2 refunds. Office knew there was a problem with machines but didn’t feel the need to put up a sign or call for repair...it’s not their job.
The spot we squeezes into didn’t leave us much room for truck. We asked a maintenance man if we could park alongside trash dumpsters in a parking area. He said we could but to put our site number in the window. A few hours later the manager knocks on the door while my husband was on an important phone call and told my husband to hang up he had something important to say and we had to move truck. My husband told him what worker said but it didn’t matter. There have been other vehicles parked in that spot the whole time but made us move.
Spoke with people who live here as well as were here for a short time and all told us about rude workers. A shame because it’s a nice place.
Under flight path for airlines but didn’t bother us. Also near main road and train but that didn’t bother us. Most parks have trains and/or road noise.

If you have a 40' rig, with vehicle in tow, plan to unhook at the registration station. While making the turn onto our designated street, we had to ask the occupant of the first site to bring in their awning so we could make the turn while barely missing the truck parked across from them. When we pulled into our pull thru site, the car was still in the street. Yes, there was a nice parking pad right next to our site but, again, the whole idea of picking this park was so we would not have to unhook our tow. It would have been nice if the staff had suggested we unhook before proceeding into the park.

We were very disappointed by the customer service at this park. We booked it to be able to be close to Portland and use the pool. We have a 15 month old and were looking forward to taking him swimming. We were in the pool for 10 minutes before the manager came out and yelled at me that children who are not potty trained are not allowed in the pool. I informed her that he had swim pants on, but she said it did not matter. It was so embarrassing to be kicked out of the pool area in front of all the other guests. Although I do think this rule is unreasonable, and not family friendly, the way it was enforced is what I have the biggest issue with. We told them when we booked we have a toddler in our party, I think we should have been informed then of the rule, and then we could decide if we wanted to pay the $60 per night rate or not.
The park was clean, although the pool area and club room were both small and dated. The laundry room was nice, with several washers and dryers and you could use your credit card instead of quarters for the machines which I liked. The wifi was also good, although we were in the front, so I'm not sure about any where else in the park. This is a large RV park and we did enjoy riding our bikes around it. It was also close to Portland. We would not choose to stay here again simply because of the lack of customer service.

Easy to maneuver within the park. Check in was easy. Utilities are good. Sites are not that far apart but there is grass between each site. 3 levels in the campground, the upper level is closest to a road that creates some noise, the middle section is the quietest and the lower section is close to a railroad and I think is used mainly for long term. A good spot to base and tour the area. Strict on rules which is fine but we were question twice within the first week about infractions that were actually being done by others and not us. For example a knock on the door to ask if the dog poop close to our site was ours,,, we don't even travel with a dog!! We have stayed here about 4 times while visiting family when in the area and probably will again but only because it's about the best park in the area. We are in a 42' motorhome
