The ladies in the office have been amazing… really.

Close access to a nice gulf coast beach. This spot gives us quick access to FCFS campground on Padre Island National Seashore. The state park is also close to the highway which has lots of road noise. And it is just a parking lot.

First time staying here and we had a fantastic site with great views and a lot of privacy. Very level site with excellent Verizon cell service. We are working remote during our stay this week. Beach access from our site needs a vehicle. Being able to drive onto the beach makes up for that though.

Well the beach is nice. I truly like to stay positive on all our camping adventures but I got to say, this RV campground is not the best to relax. The campsites are to close to each other and it depends if you stay on the sunrise side or sunset if your picnic area is on the correct side of your camper door. Word of advice, if your on the sunrise side pick an even number site. If your on the sunset side, pick an odd number. Our neighbor had to go buy a longer 50 amp cord for their fifth wheel due to being on the wrong side. The awning will touch your neighbor if you full extent. You will hear every conversation. You will hear people coming and going and headlights will destroy your star gazing. All and all it’s a good place to power up and dump. Well enough of that negativity. On a clear night the stars are amazing. The sunrise and sunsets are memorizing. The beach is clean and the water is refreshing. Great wading areas and they have a fishing jetty. I reckon the primitive area is much roomier to camp out? It looked like they were spaced apart when we drove on the beach road. It’s close to Port Aransas and to Corpus Christi for supplies and dinner or entertainment. The showers and restrooms are clean and they have a friendly dual dump station. The parks headquarters is under construction due to a hurricane but the temporary Conex Box was modified well and it was cold in there. Nice to see the Park Rangers kept comfortable. Truly this State Park needs some attention to the RV side but I am also aware we should not disturb to much of the natural area for our convenience. But some good spacing and more natural trees or shade would be greatly appreciated and attractive.

Kids had fun looking for crabs and frogs/toads each evening. Some guests liked playing their music kind of loud. A couple of the male rangers were a bit… assertive … when it came to checking in first thing in the morning after arriving late the previous evening. Most of the staff were beyond nice and helpful.

You are a 10 minute walk to a private beach. If you choose you can even drive and park your vehicle on the beach.
For the price this is a great place! You are unable to see the beach from your camping spot. We will be back.

We were in site 23 for 3 days. The sites were level, but are oddly arranged in pairs, sharing a wide pad, with the utilities in the middle, which puts them on the wrong side for one of the RVs, though most RVs wouldn’t have an issue reaching them. We were in site 23 for 3 days. The sites were level, but are oddly arranged in pairs, sharing a wide pad, with the utilities in the middle, which puts them on the wrong side for one of the RVs, though most RVs wouldn’t have an issue reaching them. It also puts that sites covered picnic table on the opposite the RV’s door(s), although Class As & Cs would have the option of pulling in rather than backing in, which would address the oddness for them. Also, water pooled on most of the sites when it rained. The puddles weren’t deep, but were rather inconveniently located on many sites. We did encounter swarming biting flies on the North end of the campground. The park does not have any trails, but the beach was nice. Most everyone followed leash regulation here. AT&T coverage was ok, generally between 1-2 Bars of LTE service, with speeds up to about 1 MB/s. Since there are no trees, satellite coverage is not an issue, so we didn’t try to get any OTA channels.
We did have an issue with one side of the dump station backing up when we dumped upon leaving. We notified the office, so presumably that has been resolved.

First time camping on the beach! We loved it and so did our kids. Not much traffic on the beach and most campers really spread out so that if anyone ran a generator you wouldn’t hear it. Only complaint would be a place to put garbage.
