Medina Lake Thousand Trails

This is a great, rustic TT property. It is a massive park, which we loved. This preserve has TONS of deer. We were in the F loop and the deer were everywhere, we could literally see 15-20 deer every afternoon as we walked the loop. The mosquitos were pretty bad at dusk, we were fine as long as we did not forget to use repellant. Its a very wooded area with easy lake access. There was a small dock for fishing. My kids enjoyed the playground and miniature golf. I loved the laundry room with 6 washers and dryers, but be prepared to drive across the large campground to use the pool and laundry. We will happily return. 45 minutes outside of San Antonio. The town of Helote is 20 minutes away and has all the shops you need. You can find firewood at the little corner gas station that is about 4/5 miles away. Many locals commented on how the lake had gone dry in prior years, however it is now at 60% capacity. We really enjoyed this location. There is lake front camping if you don't need sewer hook ups, those sites only have water and electric.
