Our second time here. Site 25 is the best except there was a sewer leak at the nearly bathroom. Made sitting outside impossible. Site are level and well spaced. No noise.
AT&T cell service is OK but spotty, 3 bars of 4G, we used the booster to stream.

Well maintained with a warm greeting (he recommended a better site for me when I checked in). We will be back.

Great sites; pads were large, level, hard packed small chip stone with concrete curbs perimeters. Our site had a new aluminum picnic table. Generally good spacing and arrangement between sites (except sites 49-57 that were right next to each other) providing some privacy. Grounds were well maintained and bathhouses were a bit dated but clean. The nearby marina was huge, and hosted a surprisingly good Mexican restaurant! Campsite was not far from I-40, but far enough to be quite isolated. No hiking trails at campground. Only negative was that the single dump station’s location interfered with the sole exit.

Rate reflects America the Beautiful pass rate. We stayed here October 17th. This is a really nice campground. Lots of space between sites. Really level sites which are clean and neat. The showers/bathrooms were very clean. The campground is located right below the dam on a beautiful stretch of river. There is a lovely walk up and out of the campground over the dam (which you have to cross to get to the campground). Across the road on the lake side of the dam, there is a huge boat launch with a nice walking path. Your are eight miles of of I-40 to get here but those eight miles get you into a rural beautiful place.

I hate we couldn’t spend more time here but we will definitely be back one day! You cross over a dam and go down a steep hill to get in & then it’s a nice little place below the dam. Very clean, and they provide picnic tables and extra tables for personal items, they also have a grill on site. A very nice place that I highly recommend to anyone!

Each site has electric and water. If you have kayaks, the river looks like a great place to put them in. It also looks like a great place to fish, and they even have fish cleaning stations at each site. This park is green and lush, just below the dam. It is pretty close to Interstate 40, and not too difficult to find. We highly recommend it! On a side note, because we have the national park senior access pass, we only have to pay half price for COE parks. We are so grateful for this!

Sites are gravel with ample room for extra cars. One washer and one dryer were free. River side sites are above the river, there are 2 river access points in the park. River levels change rapidly based on how much water they run at the dam.
Trout fishing is usually good in the river. No HDTV channels and cell service was spotty.

Great COE park below the Center Hill Dam. Sites are level, spacious, gravel with borders, picnic table, 50 Amp, water, covered built in table with two levels, fire pit and lantern post. Some sites have great shade and some are wide open. It was pretty hot but our site #25 had lovely shade in the morning and evening. Choose wisely. Unfortunately some riverfront sites closed due to high releases causing bank erosion this spring. Great clean bathrooms/showers with washers & dryers around the back. Big Rock Market provides shuttle service and has killer BBQ. They also had one of the best fishing kayak selections I have seen. Impressive! Trout fishing in the river was good. We fished when the generation was not running from our kayaks and slayed em...brook, brown, and bows! Fish the risers with streamers. Wet wading was cool as it was hot!
Campground hosts are great and the office is surrounded by a lovely garden. Butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds surround them. Hard to drive by without watching the show. Great backroads to cruise nearby. Interstate rest stop was a wealth of information! No OTA television and spotty Verizon coverage.
Cookvillle had every store and restaurant you would need including Sam’s Club.
