Every year the rates spike and the park gets more run down. The owner is too cheap to put money back into the park. The only positive thing about this place is the location. For a couple hundred bucks less per month, there are many other options in cathedral city.

The sites are small but private in this older campground which has tall hedges on either side. I read a review about garbage not being at the site but each site has its own trash which is picked up twice weekly.
We love the location of this park and it's walk/bike ability to so many attractions including downtown. Two hiking trails are directly behind the park and it's an easy drive to Joshua Tree, Salton Sea and Desert Hot Springs!
The park allows kids from April to November, so as you can imagine it's pretty quite and low key during the "sno-bird" months.
There is a large pool, spa, laundry, showers and a club house/game/yoga room.
Yes, this park might need some updating but we like the quirkiness and the people, even the long term residents have become friends!!
The price per night reflects the weekly price, I think the daily price is $90.00?

Older RV park right in the middle of Palm Springs! Fairly expensive at $90 per night but it is California. The sites were tight to say the least. Great pool and the laundry facilities were convenient and in working order.
Would definitely stay here again.

Picked it because it was the closest in to downtown. They say it’s “walkable” to town. It’s actually 1.1 miles to La Plaza. That’s a bit long for “walkable”. The property itself has gone a long time without any updates. The showers/toilets at the pool are pretty rough. Never did get the WiFi or the cable TV hookup to work. They require dogs be taken out of the park to do their biz. Had to walk trash to the office. No bins throughout the park. This park is also largely full timers. There are cheaper parks and you can easily drive to the city center.

Happy Traveler has two things going for it at this point. 1) Location and 2) The pool. We have stayed at Happy Traveler a number of times over the years. But we can no longer recommend it. It has always been well run, even if a little—no, a lot—behind times with Web site, reservations, and payment (cash or check only). The night manager is a delight! But the park, while clean, has been let go without capital improvements for so many years, that it is verging on shabby. The RV pedestals are decrepit. The Wifi is a joke, even in the area it is supposed to reliably cover. The restrooms & showers are decades old. Even the picnic tables are a wreck. Our electric hookup was dangerously shorting out, prompting us to unplug & switch to battery; it did get fixed—no apology, but we’re lucky our equipment didn’t get fried. Our site was unswept upon arrival, with debris of past occupants laying about. We were awakened every morning at 6am by the inconsiderably noisy-and-loud-talking work crew, even after asking the office to speak with them. Simply put, Happy Traveler is no longer worth the price.

When I checked in last week signs were posted that the new rate is $90 per day. I am shocked at the rate increase. As there have been no improvements over the past 19 years, I inquired at the office why there was a price increase. The lady said she did not know. The only thing that has changed as far as I can see is that they have now added padlocks to the restrooms to keep the homeless people out. There were several homeless people roaming the park while I was there.

This is a well maintained older RV park. Spots are tight but private with the tall hedges between each spot. Check in was a breeze. Quite and dark at night.

This park is fairly close to downtown Palm Springs. It is quiet in the evening which was a nice feature away from traffic noise. The spaces are very tight but the hedges provide good screening. The WI-fi is NON-EXISTANT so don't count on if for anything. Pricey for what you get. Cash or check ONLY. Hmmmm

Be prepared for a challenging set up. This is an older park and the space is tight. Though your neighbors will willingly move their cars to help out. We have a 28’ trailer and just took our time. Access rating is relative to the tight access road.
Pool and hot tub were open and enjoyable. Great access to the Tahquitz Canyon and hiking trails from the park. Great Verizon coverage and very good WiFi.

Spots are small, but they do a good job of providing privacy. Best part about this place is walking distance to downtown (about a mile). maneuverability is a problem because the spots and the isle-ways are so narrow. A bit overpriced, but it is Palm Springs.
