The park has a swamp on one side and a lake on the other. It is a very clean park. The hosts were cleaning something everyday. The showers were hot and had great pressure.
The sites were full hookups.

I thought that Michelle, whose review is below, made all excellent points and refer you to that review. I don’t find the campground noisy. The restrooms are air-conditioned and well-maintained. There is an air-conditioned cabin to rent. I have no complaints and would totally stay here again.

March the campground was infested with Army caterpillars that got into everything. The park description mentions canoeing and kayaking but the only entry point to the river was a muddy bank. The park did have two very good hosts who met us as we pulled in. There was decent WiFi if your site was near the bathroom.

We camped here in January 2023 using the Snowbird Special, which gives you a 50% discount on 30 days from January through February. Our 31 days cost an average of 20$ per night, including taxes and fees. The fees are normally 32$ to 50$ per night.
The campground is a small loop with 25 sites that are mostly suited for tents or RVs up to about 25 feet. Some sites can handle larger rigs, but it's a little tight in here. It took us a few tries to get our 32' trailer situated in site 2. The sites are a bit close together, but in random orientations, so you're not lined up with your neighbors.
If this campground was farther from civilization, it would be 5 stars for sure. The water, electric, and sewer hookups are all new and work great. Voltage was a rock solid 120 no matter how much we used. It is well-maintained. They were in the middle of doing some little improvement projects all around the grounds. The bathhouses are both clean (even the old one near the playground) and they have long-running hot showers. There is even a water fountain in the picnic area, and it works! Although the wifi doesn't work near the bathhouse, it does work around the office and picnic area and was very consistent.
The Edisto River runs next to the campground, and there is a tiny beach where you can launch your kayak or canoe. There are launch points upstream and downstream that allow a 3 hour trip either ending or beginning here.
There is only a short path through the woods, so we were doing laps around the loop. You can bike the whole place in about 2 minutes.
Now for the negatives.
It is next to US-15, so there is a bit of traffic noise mostly during the day. There is a dog training ground and shooting range nearby. Not too loud, but you hear it. Really not much to do here except begin or end a kayak trip.
Charleston is about an hour away, and you could spend a day or two visiting the Angel Oak tree, a plantation, the historic downtown, the Slave Mart museum, the aircraft carrier museum, or Fort Sumter (requires a boat ride). There is a Dollar General within a mile of the park. Two small towns with fast food and groceries are about 15 minutes north and south of here.
Overall, I would stay here again, but for less time. No more than two weeks.
The town of Walterboro has everything you might need and has a couple of places to visit. Downtown Walterboro is probably nice in the summer.
Signal was a bit low, but the booster made it solid.
The campground hosts and workcampers and rangers are all very nice and helpful. We also met some interesting campers and kayakers here. Oh, and if you need to be rescued on the river, call 911 they get there pretty fast. :)

We used this as a base camp to visit Congaree NP, Charleston, Edisto Beach, and several other one hour trips, and it worked great for that. On the downside it is a tight fit at some sites. It was difficult to get into the site, and a tight fit to get the truck in beside the rv. The road noise is loud and continuous. There are a lot of log trucks and other semis and the road is very close. Night isn’t too bad, but trucks start by 5 am most days. Jerry, the camp host, was great and helpful. They charged $30 for weekdays, $42 for weekends, and $37 for Sunday. Our 8 days averaged 38 a night in total. All in all we liked it and would stay here again.

You can tell he takes pride in caring for his site. There’s a nice big field for the dogs to play in and we were able to rent kayaks from the outfitter across the creek to explore the Edisto River. There’s a good burger place 3 miles down the road (Lee’s) too. The cell and WiFi worked great for full time remote work and locationally Colleton is about 1 hour between Charleston, Savannah, and Congaree National Park. Bathrooms were great and also well kept. Literally not complaints.

25 sites total. Quite location on the river. A lot of kayaking and canoeing from this park. I would definitely check that out if you are in to that.
AT&T with two bars of service. 80 down and 10 up on FirstNet. Plenty to stream anything you want.
