In reviewing campsites, it’s important to have perspective. Limon, CO is pretty isolated and not near any significant attractions. Therefore, there aren’t many options for camping along this stretch of I-70 and all are located pretty close to the interstate.
That said, I found the Limon KOA Journey to be a pretty good option. When I visited in chilly March, I didn’t expect any greenery or pots of flowers. Also, this is a pretty dry and dusty climate and no amount of landscaping can change that fact. My site was unpaved, but level, and both the electricity and water worked fine. The shower facility was clean and well maintained, the water was hot, and the door secured with a key code. The reception area was bright and clean, the staff welcoming and the store nicely stocked with camping/souvenir items.
I used the laundry facility, which was also well maintained and clean ($2 wash/$2 dry). The game room was a little shabby, but the current owners have only managed this location for two years; I’d put enhancing the game room below the more important amenities, too. There were also several nice cabins available for rent on the property. I can't recall the exact bars of Verizon service, but it was fine for accessing the internet.
There’s some minor road noise, if you have your windows open at night, but it didn’t disturb my sleep. Overall, my stay was pleasant and I would stay here again.

Limon isn't a destination, it's more of a stopover. This KOA was very pleasant and a nice shelter from a late fall storm.
The good:
The showers are amazing, the water is hot.
The laundry is $2 and the machines were large and well maintained.
The campground was clean and staff friendly.
The onsite pizza was very good.
The secondary dog park was large.
Sites were easy access and utilities easily reached, our site was very level.
The meh:
Highway noise is a given because of location.
The wind is a given because of location.
Sites are small with no privacy.
Tons of bunnies- my dog was losing his mind.
Main dog park is TINY.
All in all it's a good stop over campground and I'll return the next time I take I-70.

They make pizza on site which turned out to be pretty good.
There is a huge dog run next to the RV park. Since we travel with two Labrador retrievers this is a great plus.
Road noise from the interstate but not too awful.

We stayed here for 6 nights while making our way east. This is a popular overnight stop: every morning our section of the campground would clear out, and by nightfall it would be full again. The park is within sight of I-70, so there is definitely some road noise that can be heard even inside an RV, but it didn’t bother us. The road to the campground and the road surrounding the office are paved; the rest are gravel. All of the sites have gravel pads, and all of the sites in our row had gravel lawns: there were sites in other rows with some grass. Each site in our row had a picnic table and a BBQ grill. The hookups were in a standard place, and the spigot was both insulated and heated. Our site (6) was level, and it seems like all of the sites are easy to get in and out of. Our site had a cable TV hookup, and although it worked the channels came in as analog and the picture quality on most of them was pretty bad (though still watchable).
The campground has the standard KOA amenities. There is a small store attached to the office. The bathrooms located on the side of the building also contain shower stalls. The laundry room is in the back of the office building, and behind the building is a recreation room with a pool table, foosball table, and seating area. Behind the recreation room is a small, fenced-in playground, and adjacent to that is an adjustable basketball hoop. The propane refill station and swimming pool are also near the front of the campground. The dump station is near the playground, across the street from the back of site 6. Near the back of the campground, where the long term residents reside, is a horseshoe pit and a pair of dog runs: one smaller than the other. The campground also shares a huge dog park with airlock gates with a new RV park under development: we used that park a lot because of its size and because it was well-lit by overhead lighting. Other times we walked our dogs along the grass on the northern edge of the campground.
In terms of cell service, the Verizon signal strength was decent but the network was usually congested: we could not stream video most evenings (which is why we used the cable hookup). In the very early morning, before 7am, I could get speeds of 22Mbps down and 19up. The best speed I got on my AT&T smartphone was 78Mbps down and 18up. The campground WiFi was very good, with upload and download speeds of around 20Mbps.
If you’re there on a weekend morning, keep an eye on the sky: there is a skydiving operation located on the other side of I-70, and if the weather’s good you’ll likely see some skydivers coming down.
We would stay here again if we were in the area.

We called a few hours before arrival and the folks at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. When we were assigned a site, they stuck us between two rigs that were definitely set-up to winter here... when most of the rest of the campground was empty. The sites don't give you much space between (maybe 10'?) so we were neighborly.
Bathrooms were clean - although didn't use them. Not much in the way of winter amenities - but there is a (closed for the winter) pool and promise of a forthcoming dog park.
But the mud... oh lort that mud! We couldn't enter our rig without dragging it in - along with wood chips that have been spread to maybe try and squelch it, unsuccessfully - which makes for a constant fun game of 'clean up the mud'. Entry drive to the park will let you know how muddy stuff is about to be. We actually almost aborted upon seeing that entry, but the allure of 50A with impending 20 degree weather was too great.
Running/walking in this area is sparse. Views from park are not great.
