Easy to find, closer to the Crested Butte side. Kind of at a U shape in the road, so you see and hear cars from 3 sides. I didn't mind the car sound or headlights. Not much privacy, open area (for the first few sites). Some folks had a camper set up for a few days.
Would not recommend for longer rigs if the 3-4 sites you can see from the road are full. Not so great for tent camping imo (at least not the first few sites).
Everyone respectful and quiet.
No cell service and the InReach took a while to send a message. Nice stargazing.

Highway 12 leaves Crested Butte through a small neighborhood before ascending to the mountains, this neighborhood has speed-decreasing barriers that will make pulling a large rig difficult through the area. Please maintain the posted 15mph through Crested Butte. The highway to these campsites has a 50 foot length limit, please exercise caution. It begins as a two land asphalt road and then alternates into maintained dirt/gravel and back to asphalt. There are guardrails over drop-offs.
This road spur crosses Coal Creek and leads to a hiking trail. There are multiple sites suited for large RVs as long as one is cautious with the bumpy road. Site 1 is in full sun with a few trees on the highway side. It is a large grass pad that is mostly level with ample room to turn around. It is a great site for Starlink or solar rigs.
There is no cellular coverage in the area.

There are a ton of beautiful little pull-off sites for dry camping on Kebler Pass Road, and getting past the turnoff for Lake Irwin cuts down on the traffic somewhat. However, Kebler Pass Road is surprisingly busy, so be prepared for occasional road noise during the day.
You'll need to drive to Crested Butte if you want cell signal.
