Functional but very suitable and a haven from Texas oilfield country.

Municipal RV Parks are my favorites places to stay. Some are bad, but when they are good they are very good. Harry McAdams is one of the best. The park is on the site of the former Hobbs Army Airfield where B-17 crews were trained during the war. There is a lake, golf course, much open space, and full hookups for $18 per day. The park is immaculately maintained. Some of the sites have shelters covering the picnic table. The sites are widely spaced. The only negative for me was the lack of laundry. The park is 5 miles north of Hobbs where laundromat, Walmart, restaurants and other needs of the RV wanderer can be found. The wi-fi signal was strong, but unfortunately the router connection to the internet was down half the time.
If you want resort amenities, Harry McAdams is not your stop. But if you want a safe and quiet place with hookups, lots of space, and wide open vistas, you can find no better. I spent 6 nights there in fine comfort.

This is a quiet, spacious, beautiful park with full hookups for $18 a night. Covered picnic tables and extra space for chairs, etc. Highly recommend this spot. We only stayed 1 night as we were passing through town but wish we could have stayed longer.

As a previous reviewer stated....great potential but the place falls short as the management seems to maintain an anything goes atmosphere. They were great on trash pickup though, and you can expect the little white pickup trucks to be clanging around the trashcans by your rig at 7am, daily.
Then there was the "high" homeless guy causing a disturbance at almost midnight who was allowed to not only stay, but turn his shelter into his cabin keeping his headlights on until about 1am while he drove in multiple circles at the campground playing loud rap music. The local police were called, who did nothing and just left us all with this clown. They never even checked to see if he actually paid his $18 either (I asked them). Said that's a "Parks and Rec thing, not us". On that note, no campground host. Nobody to give you the code or wifi, no contact - you need to call the city and get all that. Good luck after hours or on the weekend. So, in the end, I wonder if they care if you pay at all?
First night: cars driving through at odd times, until around 3am. People drag racing down Avenue A all night. Second night: your own personal episode of "COPS" right outside your door. I planned to stay longer, but left that following morning. Clearly there is a reason this place was almost empty. If you can tolerate the sketchy and are desperate, have at it. But with some pre-planning, there are plenty of other options in the area. I'll never be back.

Found this gem but was concerned since there was not a review since 2021. Easy access and required no leveling. Marcos, the CG supervisor dropped by to welcome us and give the code to the Restrooms and Showers as well as his phone number in the event we needed anything. There was only one other camper in the park so we had our choice of spots to best fit our 3 weiner dogs. The wifi was sufficient for streaming. If we return to the area, we will definitely stay here again.

Looks like a great place however it’s closed due to no electricity and possibly Covid. Don’t bother stopping to camp. Nice park though.
