Great hiking all around. Lots of Razor trails too. But very quiet for our trip.
We expect coyote chorus tonight. Lots of small animals in the brush. And those small animals are mice and pack rats. So light up under your rigs and place Irish Spring bar soap inside storage areas to keep the rodents from chewing up your wiring.
Our neighbors warned us with horror stories. But this is a beautiful place and with a little foresight, you’ll have no problems.

As soon as you pull in there are places to park. You can make the first 2 miles pretty easy with offshoots to camp. After 2 miles probably shouldn't try if you are pulling a trailer. But there are more spots further in to camp with tent and 4wd.
If your hiking towards the peak definitely have a pair of good hiking shoes or boots with a walking stick. The road or trails are covered with loose rock which will make you slip. To me hiking is what boondocking is all about.
One thing, you have to share with the ATV's and on the weekend there are plenty, but not overwhelming. On weekdays there are very few.
People who got spots made sure there was good distance between each other.
Night time was very quite. There must be a shooting range close by because in the day you could hear the sound of gunfire, but again not so bad.

Plenty of room in this cow pasture. But no cow pods. Interesting. We only saw cows at light. Our camp site is on grassland. Some other rigs around. All was quiet. Warm days and cool, quiet nights. Perfect.

Nice spot with plenty of room for larger rigs. Some road noise but not much at night. Convenient to town, lots to do in the area. Will be back again.

This is now State Trust land and requires an inconvenient-to-get permit. Sheriffs deputies are enforcing compliance.

I stayed in mid-March 2015. A nice area just south of Wickenburg and its services. Pop...pop...pop...pop... This is state land, and the local scuttlebutt is that it will one day be developed into a park, which will probably mean fees and restrictions of some sort. My Verizon signal was good but slow. Not enough bandwidth.

There are several areas around that are BLM, and there are more campsites than the obvious ones you see right away. Always check ahead if you can, otherwise your rig might get some Arizona pin striping.
