Overall Rating

If you're looking to unwind, this is the place. Quite, peaceful, and plenty to do. Hunt, fish, hike, atv riding, prospecting. If you're into prospecting and you stay at the motel or rv park, you're able to prospect on their claim , at no extra charge. John and Candy, the owners, are amazing people. After chatting with them for a few minutes, I felt that I fit right in. They are very accommodating. There's mule deer and wild turkeys roaming around the area. The last day I went prospecting was my best day. Go figure. As I got back to my camper, I saw a resident. He asked me how I did, so I proceeded to dump my finds in a gold pan to show him. As we were chatting, I set my pan on a cooler alongside my camper. We continued to chat, and a gust of wind blew my pan off the cooler, flipping it over. My jaw hit the ground!!! I stood there just looking at my hard work and gold gone in the wind. We looked through the grass and found three larger pieces. I told Candy what had happened, and she said, " Well, dig up the sod and pan it out." I said you'll let me dig up your sod? She said we can't let you go home without your gold. Just let me know if you find it. The next morning, that's what I did. I think I found all the gold the wind tried to give back to Mother Earth. Needless to say, I'm very appreciative of being able to retrieve the gold I worked so hard for. I'm definitely planning on going back.
