The park is like a little oasis in an area surrounded by oil fields. There's a duck pond (beware of the goose), small playground, and lots of grass and trees. There are 3 poles with electric hookups for RVs, but room for at least 6 (bigger rigs might feel tight as it doesn't look like there's a good place to turnaround). The park itself was very quiet, although you can hear the highway.
It isn't a campground, so don't expect amenities or a campground atmosphere. It is more of just a clean and convenient place to spend the night.
There is only one BIG problem with this place -- the smell of petroleum permeates the air and gets quite strong when the wind blows. For that reason alone, I would try to keep moving and find something further up the road next time. It was fine though.

When I awoke in the morning, my truck and trailer had hundreds of moths attached to them. Every time I stopped afterward, dozens would fly from under the vehicles. I spent hours getting rid of close to 100 that were inside the truck and trailer over the next 3 days.
No spring time stopover here again for me.

The description say there are 16 sites. That is way off. There are 6 power hookups. And they have 4 electric boxes on 2 poles. The other two boxes are at least 25 feet from the closest spot you can park. It is the worst setup I have ever seen. In my opinion there is space for 3 rv's.... 4 if under 25 feet. If the two spots are taken with close hookups available then you WILL NEED at least 30 feet of power cord.
It is a nice setting but totally screwed up parking and hookups design.

Almost hate to reveal this little jewel. Quiet, well maintained, FREE. (They only ask that you spend money in the county. ) Stopped here on my way to Ruidoso & on the way back. Caretaker lives onsite & was super friendly and helpful. Felt very secure here even though I was the only one in the park. This time there are other rigs.

As nice as always. 50 amp power, water and level spot on gravel. Next to a golf course and park with pond and ducks. Ball park across street. Very quiet and peaceful. Dump on site but kind of difficult to get to with a big rig. Thank you Yoakum County for such a nice place to stop. And for free too.

“Planned To Camp But Arrived Mid Day So Picnicked ”
noted 4/16/2023
Had planned to camp here but arrived at lunch time and decided we needed to go further for the day. Called ahead for info. One other camper there that was packing up. Looked like they had been there for the weekend with 3 kids. Would have been a great stay I think. We ended up just picknicking and had a great rest. Might be a tight turnaround for large rigs if other campers are parked.
