The Yellow Butterfly Trading Post Campground

Small campground right on the Trans Canada Highway, which is good and bad. It’s quite noisy during the day but traffic slows at night. The campground itself is very quiet. There’s a small boutique and snack bar. Get the ice cream! Sites are kind of short. We have a 27’ trailer and a Silverado 2500. We didn’t have too much extra room, front or back. W/E at sites. There is a dump station but it’s not very convenient. It’s next to the bath house, which is clean. You have to back into the dump station and it’s a tight fit. $10 to dump. Hosts are very friendly and accommodating. No internet.

This c/g has been around for 50 years known as the Yellow Butterfly. The past few yeas it had been under ownership who have made improvements to the c/g adding water and electric service to14 sites. They have 24 sites in total and expect that to grow.

There are very few c/g’s west of Sault Set. Marie. This one is on the south side of Hgwy 17 about five kilometers west of the village of Iron Bridge. You’ll recognize it by the parking lot for a drive-in snack shack and a shopping kiosk.

The c/g suffers a bit from highway noise until night falls. It’s better then. It is a place to git off the road for the night. The sites are a little tight, but the c/g isn't that busy yet, so that is not a problem.

The C/G is clean and well maintained. We didn’t use the bath and toilet facilities, but we’d expect them to be the same. No cell phone in Canada for us so can’t comment. Their WiFi at the campsite is weak. This is not a mobile hoe park or resort c/g. It is for travelers crossing Ontario.
