“Enjoyable, Tranquil, Calm and Peaceful, yet very intellectual and soul opening.”

I slept in my car with a car cover over the vehicle so that I could be in solid darkness and so that my vehicle would not be ruined by the wind/sand. I definitely did enjoy my visit, however the only part that I did not enjoy was that a bathroom was not available. I had to make my way over to a gas station, purchase an item and then use the bathroom (decent drive just to use the bathroom).. Blessedly enough The attendants at the gas station were very kind and would even allow somebody to use the gas station bathroom prior to purchasing an item even without purchasing an item, however I personally recommend purchasing at least a item. Remember to take a miniature garbage can/bin so the garbage can be stored (garbage bags/grocery bags) and the properly disposed of. Anyways, This campsite is quite tricky and interesting to get to as turning into the campsite actually is interesting. This location is more so for an RV/motor home and for a number of campers and is also more so to be enjoyed for a number of calendar dates as the campsite is quite a distance away. A large flat of hard sand/dirt. This is more of a rest area when traveling through the mountains and campsites. I did not use my phone/did not have a phone with me. Everybody would have their own personal review. Point is the campsite is very secluded/isolated and can be very dark and cold. Flashlights are important. Fresh air is enjoyable. A miniature wilderness, spiritual and physical self reliant travel is definitely in the makes while staying at this camp site.
Can be cold, dark and lonely. Stay in the vehicle during the later hours because bugs do exist.
Very secluded and can be intimidating area of rest because the location is very far away and tough to get to.
This is a spot to stay at for a number of days/nights and only when completely prepared and packed.
Maybe park the RV and take the trucks/off road vehicles around the local areas for local tracks.
This location is better suited for group camping and not individual/personal camping.

I absolutely loved this camp spot. I was the only camper here on a Saturday night. Even if there are other campers, you will have plenty of space to spread out. Beautiful desert mountains on all sides, and gorgeous sunset. This camp is within Anza Borrego State Park. No facilities, hookups, water or anything here, just a relatively flat wide open area great for RVs/trailers dry camping. A few trails in the area but I didn't hike this time. Not far from Borrego springs if you needed to run into town for gas, groceries, dinner, hardware store.
I had 2 bars on T-Mobile, but only at the northern end of the camp area (near the highway). The south end (where the trailhead is) had zero cell service. You can hear cars passing on the road, but it was infrequent enough for me that the spot felt very peaceful.

There is a short hiking trail located at the back of the lot which can get busy during the day. We moved to this area from Blair Valley because we wanted to be closer to Galleta Meadows and The Slot hike, unfortunately the cell signal here was barely workable, even when boosted. There are no amenities here.

This is basically just a giant parking lot but it was flat and had great sunset views! There is a little trail that looks out over highway 78 in the valley that is spectacular! We were the only people the whole night. Only a few vehicles past by throughout the night. Would have been nice if there was a pit toilet at the trailhead, but in the morning the pay campground attendant let us use the facilities there as there was no one there.
