Yakima River RV Park was conveniently located off I 90. The park is a few miles from I-90. Gated park. Check in painless, no road noise, only the sound of bulls low mooing. Our site was a pull through with full hook ups. There are no facilities. We camped at Yakima River RV Park in a travel trailer.

THE GOOD
Friendly staff. Gated campground.
Location: Very peaceful in the hills and next to a small cattle farm. Food, gas, and groceries are all within 5-10 minutes.
Sites: Well-maintained and organized gravel sites with grass living area.
THE BAD
Pets: Not necessarily dog-friendly as dogs can relieve themselves only in 2 designated areas.
Political atmosphere: The on-site staff have politically-connected flags, which is their business, but worth noting as it always makes it difficult to escape the political energy. So, that is a personal negative for me.
Facilities: No showers. No laundry. They do supply a port-a-potty for those that need it.
Booking: Always a bummer to pay in full up-front vs a deposit and then full payment upon arrival. However, that is hit or miss with privately-owned campgrounds, as they do need the business and want to hold onto to it.
Cost: A bit pricey for what they offer, if you do need amenities. Ours was a weekly rate.

It’s well maintained, and gated. A bull farm is closed by- you can hear them mooing- kind of cool.
Up against the grassy hills and very close to the entrance of Yakima canyon road. A train goes by- which is not super close, but still loud.
My only complaint was the wild winds, which could be anywhere. We would stay again.

We are 55 feet in total with our motorcycle trailer and did not have to unhitch the trailer and still had room for the motorcycle in the site with us. We chose only electric and water since we were only staying 3 days which is less than a full hookup site. We had a wonderful view of the Bull pasture. We don't typically use the bathhouses in parks, so it is not an issue for us that there was none, but, for tenters or those who prefer to use them, only port-o-lets as others mentioned. Verizon signal was good 3-4 bars, we were able to stream Netflix without issue. The park's wifi, as with other parks, is fine for email, but not a super reliable service- again, not an issue for us. All in all, Ellensburg is a quaint town not far from the park, and the Wind and Solar energy center is very interesting to visit.

Nicely spaced, mostly pull-thru sites with grass between sites and some trees. Level gravel sites and roads. Picnic table. No bathhouse. Tents are allowed, but their only facility is a port-a-potty, no showers. No OTA TV signal. There IS a train track nearby, but the only other noise is from the bull pasture next door. They raise Rodeo bulls. Our site (7) was facing the pasture, and it was interesting watching them. If you can NOT abide by rules, stay somewhere else!! They have quite a few and get ready to be reprimanded if you don’t follow them! The park is gated with a passcode. We were greeted at the gate and shown to our site. The water pressure is NOT very good, but we had no issues with power or sewer.

There is a field full of rodeo bulls and they got let a second heard so it was quite entertaining for a couple of days. We recommend this little RV park that is owned by a private couple for many years!
We decided to come back out here for a Labor Day weekend when the Ellensburg wrote and when the Ellensburg rodeo is resuming is resuming since covid.

We liked the quiet green space however they were rude. I think they do not like dogs. We did not get a refund for overpriced stay. Due to Covid they only allow 1 nite. However that was her excuse for not giving us full hookup for 40. Overpriced. Site was not level but did get good AT&T signal.

Yakima River RV Park is no longer a PPA park and has not been for almost ten years. Only discounts are disabled vet and Good Sam. We also do not have showers or rest rooms, but do have porta-potties for our tenters and dry campers.
Our rates are $55 for a full service, $50 for a quiet back-in, and $35 for dry sites. We are not permitted for a dump site, but there is one two miles up the road that is free.
Our rates are based on one(1) RV, one(1) vehicle, and two(2) adults. There is a two(2) dog maximum(breed restrictive), and children under twelve(12) are free, There is a charge for extra people, vehicles, and all dogs.
We are gated, and a vehicle pass for all vehicles is required for entry.
Check in is at the gate/office prior to entry, and all guests need to register and receive a window tag for either an RV site, dry site, or day pass.
We would enjoy seeing you, and have safe travels.
