We decided to try this out ... Made it up to the "camp ground" with some tension. There were some spots on the road up you did not want to lose speed/traction and then there were wash outs with trees on the other side that made it a TIGHT fit! Once up top - if there had been an open place to camp -i think it would've been nice. We decided to go back down the road and found a spot right off the road to camp for the night. We did explore the area and found a cute little creek. There were several mosquitoes in the area. Pretty area, but due to the difficult driving with a trailer, I don't need to go back.

“Peaceful tent camping by water, mountain biking ”

Wurtz ditch is a fast flowing waterway that channels down from the Tennessee Pass area. The 3 dispersed sites are located just a few car lengths from this clear stream which makes for peaceful camping.

The road up to the sites is generally well maintained. There is some washout about a half mile from the sites, but nothing that cannot be transversed by 4x4. A small teardrop size camper with good clearance also can make it to the first site, but I recommend scouting before making the drive. The road has space for a small trailer to be turned just before the sites.

The three sites are spaced nicely for a group and all contain a fire ring and a small level spot. The sites are well shaded. They are split by a hiking and mountain biking trail that creates an 8 mile loop including Tennessee Pass.

The area has 1 to 2 bars of Verizon 4G. There were not any mosquitoes in the area of the sites, but following the trail downhill leads to a low area that was swampy.
